1992 Acura Vigor dashboard gear indicator blinks

When I put my vehicle on, the dashboard gear indicator--D4--blinks continually even when I change gear. What would be the problem and solution? Thanks.

    Just put new engine in car now d4 blinks and speedometer and cruise control does not work

TRY WHAT THAT OTHER PERSON SAID. IF THAT DOESNT WORK POP UR HOOD OPEN AND SLAM IT DOWN. ONE OF UR SENSORS ARE DIRTY OR LOOSE SAME THING HAPPENS TO MINE.

I can only assume that your light is alerting that a tranny fault code does exist so connect a tranny capable scan tool to retrieve the code or follow below to get flash codes...

The D4 light blinking is the vehicle computer telling you there is a transmission malfunction and transmission codes are stored in the computer's memory.The codes have to be pulled out manually unless it has an OBD2 connector.A transmission shop or Honda dealer can pull the codes.
