SOURCE: Check Engine Light Comes on Intermittently
The P0141 code points to the O2 sensor heater circuit. It could be that there is a short in the wiring to the O2 sensor or it could be that the O2 sensor heating element itself is bad. The code is for O2 sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2. Bank 1 means its the O2 sensor connected to the exhaust pipe that runs to cylinder #1. Sensor 2 means that it is likely the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter on the same exhaust pipe.

Code PO131 is O2 sensor circuit low voltage , bank 1, sensor 1. That sensor I would say is the one in the exhaust manifold. I would check voltage to the sensor from the computer. If the voltage is not 5 volts, then it could be a computer problem or a wiring problem. I have seen factory wiring and connectors give a voltage problem. Check for a damaged or burnt, pinched wire. You need to know for sure that the voltage is correct to the sensor. Intermittent problems are hard to trace , but patience and knowledge helps.

Bring the Honda to a parts store to have them read stored engine codes to determine what's going on (a free service at most stores). They will plug a hand held scan tool into a diagnostic port under the dash, and 'read' any codes in the cars computer. They can explain what they mean and give advice on what to do. If you have any questions, post them with the code #;s here, we'll help.

the check engine lamp is not affected by things like tyres, brakes etc. It shows that the vehicles engine management system had detected a fault with the engine or engine sensors. Check the engine for broken or disconnected wiring (maybe it was disconnected during the replacing of the hoses but not reconnected). If you fail to locate anything, check the manual for the correct fault code retrieval procedure or take the vehicle to a professional. Tyres may affect your ABS system or Airbag systems but they usually have their own warning lamp and are unrelated to the check engine lamp..

No big problem, turn the gas cap to tighten it,and keep turning it until it clicks, drive awhile, and it should reset itself. If it does not, replace the fuel cap.
