I have a 97 sl2 saturn put new alternator on it and battery still drains what could it be

Check earth straps on alternator and recheck connections are tight. Check any relevant fuses.

I put a new battery in my 2002 Saturn SL2. The radio simplys says Lock mode. Please advise me how to get my codes thanks phil

It should be easier from the top. Route the belt around all the pulleys except the alternator. Get your wrench on the tensioner and pull back. Then slip belt onto alternator pulley. It's easier with a second person, but can be done alone.

Did you check the alternator? if it is faulty the car will drain all the power from the battery until it goes flat

bad connections at the battery. This happened to my 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais. Had it towed to an electric shop thinking it needed a starter, battery, or alternator.

They cleaned the ends, and that fixed it.

I would start by rechecking the connections assuming the battery and starter are alright.

Wire brush until shiny as new.

This is a fuel related problem.

Replace the fuel pump.

had a similar problem with one i owned, you might want to look at the solenoid in the alternator it may be bad!

need to check the wire from alternator to battery for corrosion and chave cables checked
