RSX type S transmission problem

If you can shift when key on engine off, then prob clutch or slave. If not then internal transmission fault.

Check if you have the check engine light on, you need at least to have a scan of your car computer to understand what is happening

Use moth balls to drive it out. They do not like the smell and I have heard of good success with that. I will probably be doing the same around my house since my wife caught one inside. Hope this helps!

''Throw out bearing'' has destroyed itself.... time to pull the transmission and replace it and the clutch and pressure plate, and turn the fly wheel smooth.

check if both drive shafts are in gearbox/diff properly
any oil leaks from gearbox/diff?
is it manual? clutch gone
or blown diff

Brake pedal switch at fault! If it is a Automatic, standard the clutch pedal switch at fault.

It sounds like there is an issue with either the shift cable or either the parking paw inside the transmission. You should be able to take to a local transmission shop for a quick diagnosis.

sounds like your clutch has gone out. the same thing happend to me. sorry to say but its not a cheap fix. first get it looked at to double check but im almost positive this is what has happened. this cost me around $1200. but my RSX is a Type-S and is more expensive. if you own the base model you are looking at around 750-1000

Have you checked the trans fluid?
It should be changed every 30,000 miles!
Sometimes a Lucas Trans Fluid will cure - fix slippage!

Have you checked for a clutch adjustmet!
An adjustment can cure - fix slippage!

Are you a clutch rider with your foot always on the clutch?
If so you may have worn out the clutch!
