RSX type S transmission problem

I just changed my clutch. i took it around the parking lot, driving no more than 5mph, and i heard a POP. That scared me so i stopped. when i went to move the car again. the car would not move at all. I could put it in to first gear, but even when i gave it gas it was just like the car was in neutral. the engine did nothing but rev and the car did not even roll. i check the slave cylinder and that is not the problem. i just dont know enough and i need some help. i dont have the money to take it to a mechanic. does any one have any ideas.

2002 Acura RSX Type S. Cant shift out of neutral. The car has a new clutch 2 years ago. Is the problem the slave cylinder.

If you can shift when key on engine off, then prob clutch or slave. If not then internal transmission fault.

How to scare out a snake from garage

Suzanne,
Use moth balls to drive it out. They do not like the smell and I have heard of good success with that. I will probably be doing the same around my house since my wife caught one inside. Hope this helps!

''Throw out bearing'' has destroyed itself.... time to pull the transmission and replace it and the clutch and pressure plate, and turn the fly wheel smooth.

1995 camero z28. Transmission changes all gears smoothly including reverse. When I put it in park the car still rolls as if it is not in park. I thought I heard a pop a few days ago.

It sounds like there is an issue with either the shift cable or either the parking paw inside the transmission. You should be able to take to a local transmission shop for a quick diagnosis.

The 2006 acura rsx starts, but manual doesn't work

sounds like your clutch has gone out. the same thing happend to me. sorry to say but its not a cheap fix. first get it looked at to double check but im almost positive this is what has happened. this cost me around $1200. but my RSX is a Type-S and is more expensive. if you own the base model you are looking at around 750-1000

I don't know if I can help but as an owner of a Hyundai Elantra 2000 GLS with 205,000 miles and the original clutch and transmission I'll try and help!

I always start with the lowest cost solution first and avoid mechanics as much as possible!

Have you checked the trans fluid?
It should be changed every 30,000 miles!
Sometimes a Lucas Trans Fluid will cure - fix slippage!

Have you checked for a clutch adjustmet!
An adjustment can cure - fix slippage!

Are you a clutch rider with your foot always on the clutch?
If so you may have worn out the clutch!
