Whats the clearance of suzuki vitara engine tune-up: ___intake/ exhaust____?

its a 60,000 mile service point with new cam belt.

it has rockers, both the G16a and G16b both have rockers
SOHC both.
8v or 16valve engines.
yours is 16v, G16b

When cold - Coolant 59-77 degrees F.:
Intake: .005 to .007
Exhaust: (same as intake above)

When hot - Coolant 140-154 degrees F.:
Intake: , .007 to .008)
Exhaust: (same as intake above)

this is covered in the FSM. ( i have and 04 , with same engine and a real FSM.)

caps are 102 INCH/Lbs, not FEET/lbs !

get #1 piston on top dead center and exhaust cam so valves are closed ,get intake valves open

Hello r murray: My name is Roger and I will help you. The correct adjustment for the 1.6 DOHC engine is as follows. Engine cold intake valve setting is (0.13-0.17mm) exhaust valve setting is (.23-0.27mm). Engine warmed up the valve settings are intake valves (0.17-0.21mm) exhaust valve settings are (0.28-0.32mm). make sure engine is warmed up. Put cylinder one at top dead center,remove the valve cover,loosen all adjustment lock nuts,adust intake and exhaust valves on cyl #1 and intake valve on #2 and exhaust valve on #3. now rotate crankshaft 360 degrees clockwise, now adjust intake valves on cyl#3 and cyl #4 and exhaust valves on cyl #2 and cyl #4.now tighten lock nuts and install valve cover. specs are intake valves 25mm clearance and exhaust 28mm clearance, use a feeler gauge,heres a picture to show you where to check clearance.

valve clearance, with engine hot, intake valves are .005-.006 in, exhaust valves are .011 in, if engine is cold then its intake .009-.011 in and exhaust is .007. hope this helps good luck.

8 valve engine ,intake cold 0.13 to 0.17mm hot 0.23 to 0.27 exhaust cold 0.16 to 0.20 hot 0..26 to 0.30 mm 16 valve engine (intake and exhaust) cold 0.13 to 0.17mm and hot is 0.17 to 0.21mm

On the intake 0.0008 or 0.0020 (it's in between these 2)

this is for the stem to guide clearance. (for the intake)

The Exhaust 0.0018 to 0.0030 stem to guide clearance.
