Replace the blower motor relay, it is defective and sticking internally, causing the heater motor to keep running.

If it was the relay why does it function normally whe car is running but comes on again on high speed 30 seconds after shutting car off

  • Anonymous Dec 25, 2010

Because a relay (it is a switch) when defective will do some unusual things and is the easiest thing to swap out in the PDC. If the relay is known to NOT be the cause, then a more detailed approach will be needed to isolate this unusual circuit issue, and will require a volt meter to test voltages with the vehicle on and off as well as other circuits. Making this happen in full detail on the posting is not an easy task.

Check for melted wires or connector at the blower resistor. It's located near the blower motor which is under the dash above where the passenger's feet go.

Heater blower not working

You call it the blower motor, I assume you mean the interior Heater/AC blower motor. When the motor acts as you have described it is usually a problem in the motor itself like a short or rectifier.

Ac blower won't work. Resistor has been replaced 3 times. I think it is the problem now. Is it easy to replace? Where is it?

Blower motor resistors are found on the pasenger side ducts near the blower motor. It should have three wires going to it.
