Neighbors ride. Battery died and was dying for the last 30. Motor light was illuminated. Dodge got them for 850.00. Tune-up and wires, Trans flush(?).EGR replacement. Other nit nodes. My ? for them is would the fact that the battery was dying would it have affected the eng. light to come on (EGR condition) Also where can I get T. codes for this car and or can I key retrive. After ha changed the battery I did the 3 key and motor light flashed 10. Thanks, Ted

Go to an auto store and get a 12 v test light. Disconnect the positive battery terminal and clip the clip end of the test light on the battery post. Place the pointed end of the tester to the positive cable, if the test light is lit then something is on even though the key or switch is off and whatever it is it is drawing down the battery. Then go to the fuse boxes and remove one fuse at a time and when the light for the tester goes off then you have found the source of the draw. This assumes the battery has been tested and is good. Please keep in mind that even thought you turned a switch off does not mean the switch works and is turning off the item in question. There could be a short soewhere. Has the owner had something added to his car such as fog lights, a DVD player from outside source, a new cigarett lighter to plug in a phone charger etc, when did the problem start? Hope this helps.
