Hmm....

The problem would be in the ignition system. Try to check if there is a spark coming out in your spark plug.

Remove the spark plug and put the cable in it and body ground the electrode of the spark plug. Let somebody to start the engine.
If there is a spark comes out, the problem would be the fuel that suppose to go in your cylinder, there are three faults to be looked at in the fuel system, the fuel pump, fuel pump fuse, and the fuel filter.

If there are no sparks coming out, the fault would be the ignition sytem, where there the vital parts are in the distributor assembly. An electrician or your dealer shop should work on that, vital testing will be done to pinpoint the fault inside.

Hope that helps you out!

Possible shorted transmission harness or transmission shift solenoids. Disconnect the big connector at the transmission under the car and see if the short stops and fuses don't go.

2001 pt cruiser was diving down the road and just shut off will not start

If it turns over (cranks) but does not start, it is almost surly a bad crank sensor. Check to see if your tachometer moves when cranking the engine-if it does not, install a crank sensor.

I started my 2001 Nissan Exterra this morning and noticed that the caytalac converter was spraying fluid looking like oil and water. It is all rusted on the outside. Do you suggest I need a new caytalac...

This is acutally quite common on all vehicles to drip condensation buildup. Most cats and mufflers have a little pin sized hole to release the fluid.
