Fixing the system is the only way to turn the light off.

SOURCE: abs light

The lights usually reset themselves, however if it still has not turned off, disconnect your battery and leave it disconnected for at least a minute. If you re-connect it and the light is still on you may still have a problem with your ABS.

Brake and abs light

Check to see if your emergency brake is partially on. Also the abs light goes on when the sensors on the hubs get corroded from salt. They either need to be cleaned or replaced. Mine are on from corrosion from road salt so rather than pay the hefty fee to fix the issue until I can do it myself I just pulled the fuse for ABS in my panel to shut that system off. Perfectly safe to drive without them and not an inspection requirement. Now your abs is probably going on every time you apply the brakes and that is not a good thing!

Abs light and battery light

If your battery light is coming on, and shutting the car off when it does, it might be time for a new battery - when was the last time you had it replaced?
Typically the ABS light and battery light are not related - you might have two separate issues with the vehicle. If your ABS light is on it means that your ABS won't engage when it's supposed to - you should have your whole ABS system checked, often it's something as simple as a sensor that's malfunctioning.

Vsc abs track off

Sounds more like the alternator and I wouldn't think the o2 sensor has anything to do with it. That's part of the emissions.
Hope this helps

The abs light on my 2000 buick lesabre will noy shut off we have changed brake rotors and pads what could the promblem be

The ABS system has nothing to do with replacing the pads and rotors, the abs is anti braking system the system is designed to keep the wheels from locking up when brakes are applied hard, . you will first need to have the abs computer scanned for codes, the computer will pick up a problem in the system and turn off the system and then turn the abs light on and last it stores a code in the computer, the code will tell you what part of the system has failed. the codes or code are very helpful in pinpointing the problem. the abs system contains speed sensors on all four wheel and a anti braking module and computer, the most common reason for a abs code is a bad wheel speed sensor. this is the most common problem seen, the code for example may read something like this poXXXXX right front speed sensors.again start by getting the codes, good day.

My ABS light and Traction Control light is on my dashboard. I brough tthe car like it, the guy said if I change the rear discs and pads they should go off or be allowed to be turned off. Is this crrect? if...

Not likely replacing pads and rotors will shut it off. Something caused a code to set off usually a sensor error. The car should be scanned to find out what caused the abs to come on.As far as shutting it off most vehicles reset abs everytime the vehicle is started . The car then runs a quick self test on the abs and if it detects an error the light will come back on.

How do you shut off the ABS light after replacing rotors and pads on a 2000 Montana?

The main reasons why an ABS light is on is from the wheel sensors being dirty or needing to be replaced, each sensor cost approx. $49.00-$149.00 without labor. Cleaning them should cost about $50.00+.
if the wheel sensors test good(there are 4 sensors, one each wheel) the trouble may be in the BCM(Body Control Module) this would be a costly part approx. $400.00 used up to $1,000.00 new.

There's a little light that says "low trac" that goes on when i turn on my 1998 chevy cavalier.... what does it mean??

means the traction control module is bad. That light is suppose to come on when you lose traction to let you know the traction control is kicking in.

2001 Mercury Grand Marquis brake and ABS dash lights on and off

The red brake light is the key here. That usually indicateds a hydraulic problem. Check you fluid level in master cylinder and see if it is low. Also the level indicator sensor there in the master cylinder maybe sticking or corrioded. If ABS sees the red brake light it will shut off and turn on the ABS light, also traction control would be disabled as well.
