Obd2 code p1226 - Maxima Nissan Cars & Trucks

This is s throttle position sensor error. At idle the throttle plate shuts closed and an electric actuator on the throttle plate shaft rotates the throttle plate a fraction to allow enough air through to the inlet manifold to maintain idle. If for some reason the throttle plate cannot open enough to allow the required amount of air through or there is some obstruction this will cause the p1226 error. Remove the air ducting between the air filter and the throttle. Ensure that the throttle interior and plate are free of oily grime. Ensure the edge of the plate is clean: WD40 and a cloth is ideal. Reassemble the air ducting and test.
