Increasing Torque in Grand Vitara 2007

Head tightening procedure and torque specs:
For M6 bolts:

• Step 1: 11 Nm (1.1 kg·m, 8.0 ft·lb)

For M10 bolts:

• Step 1: 52 Nm; 5.2 kg·m; 38.0 ft·lb
• Step 2: 82 Nm; 8.2 kg·m; 59.2 ft·lb
• Step 3: 0 Nm; 0 kg·m; 0 ft·lb
• Step 4: 52 Nm; 5.2 kg·m; 38.0 ft·lb
• Step 5: 103 Nm; 10.3 kg·m; 74.5 ft·lb

loosing compression
fuel delivery

if its the DiD ...internal carbon build up

Peak torque is 500 Nm, peak power is 179 PS (132 kW) at 2,700 rpm. Maximum torque is (51.0 kg m)'/1,500 rpm. Bore is 115 mm, stroke is 115 mm.

my guess is you mean the accessory belt.,

the FSM answers this.
Loosen the belt tensioner by turning the tensioner clockwise.

• On 2.4L engines, do not turn the tensioner pulley with a torque higher than 44 ft. lbs. (59 Nm).

a super easy job.

As usual Gillian it isn't a straightforward figure so I will type the recommended procedure.

Working outwards in a diagonal fashion.
stage 1 = 26 Nm
stage 2 = 53 Nm
stage 3 = 84 Nm
stage 4 = slacken all bolts.
stage 5 = 26 Nm
stage 6 = 53 Nm
stage 7 = 105 Nm

Personally I would go to great lengths to ensure all the threads are clean and oiled or greased and I would leave it overnight before slackening the bolts and re-torquing.

I hope your torquing arm is in good condition.

you mean the 2.0Liter I-4 motor?
it has what is called a structual pan. and that was a big mistake.
not only the part but the long labor to pull pan on any GV

Flywheel/driveplate torque setting: 60 Nm + 90 degrees.
Clutch to flywheel torque setting: 22 Nm.

Nissan QR 2.5 engine produces a torque of 180 ft·lbf (244 N·m) of torque at 4000 rpm .
