SOURCE: X5 dead satnav/radio display
I had a very similar problem. The AA and BMW checked all fuses. The problem turned out to be an electrical cluster behind the steering wheel.
Replaced by BW for about £580!
Now need a new sat nav system at £16000 apparently - the fun of BMW ownership!

Hi kuldipdhanja this sounds like it could be an internal fault with the video module or the sat nav drive, you could try discontecting the battery negative lead for 15 minutes to reset the control units, you will have to remove the spare wheel and unfasten the air compressor bracket to get to the battery, this fix may only be temporary but it is alot cheaper than replacing parts. regards mark.
SOURCE: Can you put factory sat nav in an X5 when it does not already have it in
Hello There
Yes it is possible to install the factory sat nav in you X5, but apart from the head unit you will also need:
All the interior needs to come out i.e seats, floor carpets, door trims.
If you feel brave enough then there are BMW forums which gives you very detailed information on how to to it, but don't expect to get it done in a day or even two, a week is probably realistic time. It took me 2 weeks to do my first 3 series.
Hope this helps. Please don't forget to rate me.
Many Thanks
