Hi. I have a 1987 rx7 turbo II with a 1990 engine which I had rebuilted from scratch. My problem is when I finally got the engine running, after the first 20 min, it shut down(engine) without any reason. After looking for the problem we found that the ECU appeared with 4 of its resistors, those related with the fuel injectors, were burn out. After fixing the ECU, now the engine do not want to start up again. Can you help?
It deactivates cylinders 1, 4, 6, 7 between 1000 and 3000rpm. It will
operate in 4 cyl mode when the torque requirement is less than 95% of
the maximum availabe from 4 cylinders.

The side seals for the rotors are bad. the only thing you can do is pull the engine apart and replace the seals IF the side housings are good. If they are bad, you cant machine them, they are JUNK. Find a shop that rebuilds Mazda Rotary engines. Mazda may be the best place to get a reman engine.
I use to run my own switch for the fuel pump. Leave the power off to the pump for about 10 mins. Then power it up then start engine. If this doesn't work use a little starting fluid. If that doesn't start the engine check to make sure you are getting spark to the plug. If you are check the compression.
Hi - There is a engine manual for the cb-60 engine, can be found on the net. With drawings. I found it on an Australian Daihatsu net club, i think.
