Hi, The windscreen wipers on Mazda 3 hatchback 2008 have stopped working. I think it's the fuse, but I can't find the fusebox. And I have no manual.

NO Country told ( another hard case)

they also moved them fuse box NOV 2008(fun no) buy the service manual for your car is best for sure DIY !!!
hint, scan the PCM and it tells wait failed.

the users manual covers your car only, all options on it. in fact.
the user manual , end of book index see FUSE,
lost that ? in the glove box.

not only fuses but the controller is told to turn that on via
a car network data buss. so it is not simple like 1990
they use data comms now to vast things, SO WE SCAN FIRST>!~!!

Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? A wiring diagram for your vehicles windshield wipers electrical circuit would show all components involved . You would need a wiring diagram for testing ,so you know which wires too test . It would show the fuse location - amperage etc.... Which of these is your vehicle - Notchback or hatchback or station wagon .

The fuse would be marked WPR fuse # 9 25 amp. located in the IP fuse panel . IP - instrument panel fuse box . It's location is

Windshield Wiper System
The windshield wiper system consists of a wiper motor, a linkage, a wiper arm and a blade, and a wiper/washer switch. The windshield wiper circuit incorporates a self parking device which consists of a worm gear and a cam plate in order to keep the circuit engaged temporarily when the switch is turned off. The wiper system is driven by a permanent magnet-type motor. The windshield wiper motor is mounted on the dash panel and is directly connected to the windshield wiper linkage.
The windshield wiper motor has 2 speeds, LO and HI, and also has intermittent wiper capability. The wiper switch is an integral part of the wiper/washer switch. Windshield wiper operation is actuated through the lever on the right side of the steering column.

Depends on which fusebox you are referring to ....

1) Located in the rear electrical centre in the luggage compartment
F17 and F18 are associated with sunroof (with or without pinch protection), the Rain Sensor, Rear View Mirror and the Control Module for All-Wheel Drive

2) Located in Engine Bay fuse box, F17 and F18 serve windscreen wiper motor

Wiper arm is loose at pivot. Take caps off at pivot and run motor to rest position. Move wiper arms to rest position and secure nuts.

The fuse must be in the main fuse box. The position and function of the fuses is normally marked on the inside of the fuse box cover and also in the owner's handbook. If you don't come right with these, work your way through the fuses looking for a blown one. To ease your search the wiper fuse it should be around 15 to 20 amps.

pull the fuse if it wont stop, faulty switch or relay sticking. get it from the junk yard. more likely it the wiper switch is faulty.

so dont use it with your bike carier

Most cars turn on the wipers when the washer pump is turned on. Look for a stuck switch or relay in the washer circuit. It seems that the wipers think that the washer is on.

I am fixing a similar problem on my daughter's 2002 323 Hatchback (Australian BJ model, RH drive) at the moment. Rainwater comes in from above the clutch pedal.

If you look down thru the vents in front of the windshield near the wipers, you will see a spot-welded body seam running across the bottom of that recess. This is where hers is leaking. I originally sealed it with a RTV silicone sealant which fixed the problem but after approximately 6 months it has started leaking again. I am going to remove the silicone and seal over the seam with a brushable bitumen -type sealer.

Remove windscreen wipers and the vent panel for easy access to the area.

then the fault is deeper...
There are a few "fusible links" (Read BIG FUSES) under the bonnet, check if any of these are blown theyre under a flat-topped black or clear box (you know the type) , if you had a bad fusebox then these fuses are there to protect your car, check them out... They are 10, 20, 30, and 60AMPs I think, stocked at all auto shops.
