Can my 1999 Cadillac Seville concourse overheat by mixing too much water with antifreeze??

Theoretically yes. Antifreeze has a higher heat capacity than water. Basically, a liter of antifreeze can hold more heat than a liter of water. I dont think it would be enough to cause an overheat though

No heat

Im 85% sure if you pull the heater hoses off where they connect to the engine, you will find that they are clogged with grime and corrosion.

2000 cadillac seville radiator could this be a problem for over heating with out it leaking

could be if vehicle has never had antifreeze ,if antifreeze has been used since new then this isnt the problem ,most likely is head gasket but the water pump impeller is a big suspect as well as they ahve a plastic impeller on a metal shaft and they can come loose .

Pull the dist. cap of and inspect rotor and contacts. If the rotor has a lot of graphite dust in the center this may cause the coil to fire at more than one cylinder and cause the module to over heat for just a moment. Just fixed a gm truck that was doing this. Cap and rotor.

I have a 1990 subaru loyal, it runs fine but there is a problem with the heat. the heat coming from the heater core isnt very hot, its barely warm. the car gets up to running temp and doesnt overheat. when...

A clog can cause low heater perforance in the winter. I had a 1990 Cadillac Deville that had cold air blowing in the middle of winter, and had the system flushed and that solved the problem.

One can feel the two heater tubes at the firewall leading to the heater core to verify whether or not the antifreeze/coolant is getting hot at the heater core.

Good luck on this repair.

The heat on my 1998 Cadillac deville won't come on, just makes a knocking sound underneath the dash board.

Sounds like the motor that opens the door in the duct work to let the heat in isn't working right or the door is jammed.

After changing hoses and coolant in my 91 seville the heater does not work. what gives?

If you had heat before, and not now, it sounds like you have air in the system. When the system is cold, open the radiator cap and check the level in the radiator. If it is low, fill it back up. Also, make sure you put the "tabs" in the radiator if you changed the coolant. There should be a decal that says the warranty would be void if you don't put them in. They are cheap at the dealer. Before you start it back up when it is cold, take the cap off and squeeze both hoses several times. you should see air come up and out the inlet.

It may help to jack the car up on the Pass side with the cap off let it run. putting a little 50/50 coolant in as it runs. Leave the heat on at high while you are doing this.

Hope this helps

Car over heats

around 220 is about the high end of normal operating temperature, watch it carefully and if it gets ANY hotter than that then drive it right away to a highway or get it up to at least 40 mph and it will cool down to approx.150 degrees,Make sure there is enough antifreeze in it first. Also listen for the cooling fan to come on when it gets to 200-210 degrees, you may need a new cooling fan motor which is about $60.00 plus labor

1993 cadillac seville

It might be the fan relay switch. When the car gets warm check to see if the fan comes on.
