Yes it does, it is the small round canister bolted to the top of the starter. The starter is bolted to the bottom rear of the engine on the passenger side.

I have 1995 Chevy Suburban, 350 2 wheel drive. When first starting the vehicle the transmission works fine but when it warms up the transmission does nothing . What could be the problem

Is the transmission fluid level topped off when warm?

Has the transmission been flushed and filled within the last 30,000 mi? Dirt and clutch dust can accumulate in the orifices of the solenoid causing malfunctions of the transmission.

A flush and fill is a $100, or so, fix if this is the case.

If, however, the damage has been done to the solenoids due to wear and tear of the clutches, then the transmission will have to be rebuilt or replaced with a low mileage one that doesn't malfunction in this manner.

Ignition wire to solenoid. Battery to solenoid. Then one wire from solenoid to starter.

Chevy suburban has a ''first 5 minutes'' knock

All kinds of things can go wrong after a flood so thats hard to diagnose through an e-mail. Your shift solenoids are on the valve body in your transmission. Your computer shifts the tranny. More than likely you have a 4L60E.

Will a 1994 chevy 4l80e 4wd swap into a 1995 GMC

Yes they will swap out nicely, the years where they made the change is in 1997 and the only difference is the transmission end housing has a different bolt pattern but has the same internal parts. You may also want to swap out the servo's with a corvette servo. The cost is around $45.00 and can be done without dropping the transmission pan, this will make your transmission shift firmer and will have less clutch slip[ between gear shifts. Good luck and hope this information helps.

I have a 93 Chevy Suburban 1500 and the Transmission won't shift into any gear. I have an 1983 Chevy Suburban Transmission that is still good. Can I use the 83 Transmission in my 93 Suburban?

Not without a little adapting. The 1993 has a 4l60e which is electronically controlled and has shift solenoids. If the 83 is an overdrive it is a 700r4 which is the same trans but not electronic. If you put it in the speedo wont work and you will need to install a T.V. cable so the transmission will shift. The 93 won't go forward or backwards?
