Had similar problem found out it problem was due to wear of key teeth. Changing the key for a new one solved the problem.

Apparently steering colum lock. next time try turning your steering wheel to the left while turning the key in the ignition. don't stress the ignition. though if it isn't your stearing lock the last thing you want to do is bust up the or in come cases break your key off in there. Try turning the stearing wheel though. 99% of the time thats what it is.

Does the emobilizer and key have to be replaced if the wrong key was put in ignition and had to be pulled and wiggled pretty hard to remove now it wont start

When you turn the ignition switch to ON(II), the immobilizer system indicator should come on for a few seconds, then go out. If the indicator starts to blink, it means the system does not recognize the coding of the key. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK(0), remove the key, reinsert it, and turn the switch to ON(II) again. If the system repeatedly does not recognize the coding of your key will need a repair.

I have a ford focus 2003- today when I exited the car nothing was unusual..when I went to try to go to work the key will go in ignition but won't turn AT ALL. Anyone know what I can do to fix it?

your steering wheel has tension on it - are your front wheels parked against a curb or were you turning your steering wheel while you shut off the car? Try pulling hard left and turning the key. If that doesn't work, pull hard right while turning the key. You may have to pull really hard if you are a smaller person.

Ignition wont turn steering wheel locked

If the steering wheel was in a hard turn when the ignition was turned off and the key was pulled, maybe it's just in a bind. Put the key in the ignition and pull the steering wheel hard to the left, then to the right while trying to turn the ignition.

Ignition key will not turn.wheel is not lock

you may have a worn ignition tumbler.has the key been hard to turn at other times.if so then this sounds like the problem.also if you have a heavy key ring the weight wears the key tumblers out pre-maturely constantly pulling down on the switch.

Today, after fueling up my car - I went to start the engine and the key wouldn't turn in the ignition, the steering wheel wouldn't move and I couldn't push the brake pedal down. After trying several times...

if you turned the steering wheel after shutting off the engine and the steering wheel caught the lock and tried to turn back it would hold pressure against the ignition lock cylinder. if it happens again try pulling the steering wheel hard one way or the other and turn the key at the same time.

Key does not turn on ignition. Won't turn at all. Cannot start the car or have it towed since it is stuck in park.

Have new key cut, stop at hardware store and get liquid wrench spray ,spray lube in cylider, then put key in and out several times briskly before trying to turn.If this does not work open hood and pop shift cable of trans selector lever and reach down and move lever to neutral position two notches.then can tow.

Automatic engine immobilizer wo'nt reset

The immobilizer does not "lock" the ignition, it does not energize the fuel injection relay. What you have is a "locked" steering column. Put the key in the ignition, and pull/turn the steering wheel HARD left or right, whilst turning the key to on or start. Do BOTH at the same time. The action of you pulling on the steering wheel will unlock the steering column.
