2006 Dodge Caravan 3.8L 87k miles. Problems with starting. Would turn, not catch. Battery test was excellent. Hard jerks when changing gears. Various codes, frequent ones included P0335, P0300. Mechanic check could find no problems. Replaced PCM. Same staring problem with added strong smell of gas and thick black smoke from tailpipe when over 20 mph. Codes now consistent with P0335 and P0202. What should I do to fix?

So you have injector problem and crank sensor problem,
crank sensor this will make it hard to start, and black smoke and smell of fuel would be the injector staying open. have you checked the earth condition on the sensor plugs, there is a earth wire on each sensor, you will need to check them with a meter, if the garage has checked the sensors and said they are fine that is were i would be looking. dont under stand changing the pcm without doing this test first, if earth is fine then i would start checking the other sensor wire, you will need the ecu layout of the plug. and find the wire code for the sensors and check the sensor end to the ecu end and make sure they have a good feed. if you find a problem you will need to re wire and cut the old connections and fit the new wire/s to the wiring, or if you have a lot of luck you may find the brake in the wire, most common is any where its hot and also when the wiring connections are they look like blocks, these blocks can sometimes let water in and corrode the connections, clean them and replace the seal on the plug. hope this helps.

Perhaps I'm crazy, but when I ran a shop, the vehicle did not go home 'till the problem was solved and I never charged for items that did not fix the vehicle...( I had the silly idea that the customer should not pay for my mistakes .therefore in my world they already have abdicated.)
The problem may be beyond the skill level of anyone in the shop...therefore doing the same thing over and over will give you the same results. You need a fresh "eye" on the situation. Only then will you get a different result. There are "flight tests" and other diagnostics that can be done that should give you an idea what is going on.
If the repair is going to cost more than what the vehicles value is, then it's your decision about what to do. You can have the repair done, buy a different car and/or you may have some legal means of recovering all or part of what you spent not fixing the problem. These are decisions you need to make, but decide after you have the facts in front of you.

97 dodge caravan at first would lunge when starting to move forward from a stop and now jerks and dies when put into gear. Any ideas?

Sounds like transmission problems The lock up torque converter isn't working correctly. The transmission control module may also be the culprit.

2006 dodge grand caravan-car won;t start.fuel pumpplugs and wires ok.computer gives no clue and checks everything out ok Battery fine.car turns over but just won;t start.visually othing appears to be...

My 2003 dodge caravan would not start after driving about 1/2 hour. I stopped for coffee and when got back in to start it started I switched gears and it stalled. I tried to start again switched gears then it started but only for 2 sec. No clicking, no cranking sound just would not start but battery functions were great. Spent 2 days with a mechanic who could not resolve so sent to Dodge. After a day of putting wires back and checking out the problem they said it was the computer. Said that it was bad and could be replaced at no charge due to malfunction. Yes, it worked fine afterwards no more problems. They also said that some of the computers are found to be defective like this one so I hope this helps you in the right choice to have the dealer check it out if you are unable to get a computer reading and there is no obvious short in the system. Free sounded very good but as you know there is no such thing as really free as they got me for other things $350 worth. ouch!
