Apr 16, 2019 - P0411 is a general OBDII trouble code, which means that it has the same meaning for the Chevy Cobalt as it would any other car or truck.

The P0974 code is generic powertrain code related to the transmission, including pressure faults and sensor failures. In this case, the engine control module (ECM) has detected a fault with a high voltage reading from the shift solenoid A control circuit.

What is a P0700 Code? The P0700 code indicates that there's a malfunction with your vehicle's Transmission Control Module (TCM). This computer monitors your transmission and works with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Engine Control Module (ECM) to shift gears when necessary.

What does diagnostic code PO0706 and PO700 mean?

OBD II Fault Code
  • OBD II P0706
Fault Code Definition
  • Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
The purpose of the automatic transmission is to match the engine's optimum power and torque characteristics to the driver's desired rate of acceleration and speed by auto-selecting different gear ratios or 'speeds' to power the wheels. The Transmission Range Sensor (also referred to as the PRNDL input and/or neutral safety switch) tells the transmission control module (TCM) and the powertrain control module (PCM) that the transmission is in park, reverse, neutral, drive, low, 2nd, 3rd etc. It is attached directly to the manual valve of transmission, so when the shift lever is moved say from park to drive, the Transmission Range Sensor communicates this critical information to the above mentioned vehicle computer systems.

P0700
Many vehicles have a control module for the automatic transmission called a transmission control module (TCM). The engine control module (ECM) communicates with the TCM to monitor the automatic transmission for faults. If the TCM detects a fault in the automatic transmission and sets a transmission related fault code, the ECM is informed of this also and sets a P0700 in the ECM memory.

My 98 riviera is not shifting right. The rpm is not going into the red. I put a transmission filter kit on it and its still not shifting right. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

If shifting malfunctions exist on the transmission, then the solenoid(s) may be bad on it that determines shift points along with the PCM or powertrain control module.

Do you have any codes stored in the obd-II computer associated with this problem? Sometimes there will be on obd-II cars. Sometimes, though, no code will be stored, but the car will malfunction.

Try substatutting the ignition module with a known goog one. Also have the camshaft CIRCUIT checked at the camshsft sensor plug in, for propper voltage. The code P0340 indicates a circuit malfunction not a sensor malfunction. Good luck.

My 1998 Hyundai Accent Check Engine light comes on then off

If your having a check engine light come on you'll need to find out what it's for, you can do this by using a OBD II diagnostics tool to retrieve the trouble codes from your pcm "powertrain control module", without knowing the trouble code stored in your pcm it could take hours of troubleshooting to find out whats wrong with your vehicle, you can buy a OBD II diagnostics tool at a auto parts store, if you don't want to buy one some auto parts stores will do the test on your vehicle at no cost, Thanks for using fixya.
