2004 4WD Trailblazer didn't start this morning. No crank, no ticking but some power to accessories. My son tried to put window down and the radio came on. Later in the day, the radio came on automatically, with no key in the ignition. Reinserted the key, now it won't come out of the ignition and can't change gears out of park to tow it. Besides being possessed, it's probably a short somewhere, right????

Not that I know of. And even if there was, it should still crank.
Do you have power at the starter and have you tried cranking it in neutral ?

If the problem is no crank, could be the security system, key switch, neutral safety switch, starter, cables, or battery.
I would check for power at the starer and work back.
Did you try it in neutral ?

indicates a ground circuit problem or alternator / voltage regulator problem
have an accredited auto electrician check it out

Your battery is low or has weak cell. I recommend jump starting vehicle. If it jump starts then replace the battery. If
battery warning light is illuminated on dash may have charging
system concern.

it could be your bat but if its completely dead then your alternator is going bad or your charging mecahnism. autozone will check that stuff free

Check the fuse box. There should be something that tells what amp fuse #22 is. You may have a spare fuse in the box. Worse case scenario, pull a fuse of the same power from something that you don't need and use it til you get the key out. If the fuse keeps giving problems that indicates you need to get something checked out. DO NOT put in a larger amp fuse to get by. Fuses are there for a reason. It is not worth burning a Trailblazer up because of a $3.00 fuse.

Check and see if the shift indicator is showing that it is in a drive position when the shifter is in park.This will cause the vehicle to not start because the computer thinks it is in gear and not allow power to the starter.The problem is the ignition switch.Also check the neutral safety switch on the side to the transmission.This is a 12 pin connector.The number 11 pin is power to the safety switch,12 is crank voltage,and 1 is starter relay coil supply voltage.Hope this helps.Good luck.
