There are several fuel pumps that fit your application
the difference is the the draw more or less fuel
more or less amps
verify your fuel pump app
it is ok to try a fuse with an additional 5 amps...no more

What makes the fuel pump not kick on on a 92 Oldsmobile Cutlass

There is a red wire close to the battery in the front. It's not connected to anything. Apply positive voltage and that will run your pump for testing purposes.

1997 GMC Sierra, I keep blowing the ECM 1 fuse, I replaced Fuel Pump relay and Fuel Filter. Does the ECM 1 Fuse Pump the Fuel Pump, also disconnected the Fiter turned on the key and no fuel.

ecm1 is injectors not fuel pump ecm-b is fuel pump its more likely to be a faulty relay for the injectors, it would be a similiar design to this
12900_oil_sending_unit_and_fuel_pump_circuit_80-yoo05im5qhid2i2poe1uh03c-5-0.gif this is for the fuel system, relay for the injector is nearly the same.

I am working on a 94 cutlass ciera. It quit and wouldn't start.Fuel pump fuse was blown.Replaced the fuel pump and filter. The car started and ran everyday for a week. Now the fuse is blowing again.i changed...

sounds like you could have something cloging the line so fuel pump is working to hard. try the filter see if its cloged up,maybe drain the tank and flush the system out.but you could be right with the pump itself going out again rare but could happen.good luck.

Keeps blowing fuel pump fuse. Why?

This normally happens due to short in the wirings.Or if someone has connected a stereo or some other electrical contrivance to the wiring harness (bundle), either under the dash or under the hood.To confirm this unplug the fuel pump wiring connections and insert new fuse. Then start the car and see,if still the fuse blows then its a short in wiring. But if the fuse does not blows then its faulty fuel pump relay or faulty fuel pump itself. So first replace the fuel pump relay and see,if the fuel still blows then its faulty fuel pump. But if the fuse not blowing then relay was the faulty part. The fuel pump relay located on the fuse box under the hood.---------This troubleshooting tips will help you locate the fault and solve it.-------Thanks.Helpmech.

Fuel pump fuse keep blowing when turning car on

this is caused in most cases by a defective fuel pump, disconnect the pump connector at the top of the fuel tank, if the short stops replace the fuel pump inside te gas tank.

Car keeps blowing a fuse while driving and wont get gas when it happens. possible wiring problem to fuel pump. where can i get a diagram for the wiring and does a 93 olds cutlass ciera have a in tank...

Yes the fuel pump is in the tank. The fuel pump relay is the first thing to check. Not to expensive, just put a new one in.Check all wires under the hood, and under the vehicle from front to back to see if there is a bad, torn wire harness.Think if any thing has been added to the vehicle where screws may have been put in,they could have cut a wire going in.Look for naked wires touching any thing. The fuel pump fuse can be part of the ecm also,so don`t just pinpoint fuel pump wire harness, sensors switches, etc, can be on the same circuit. If you have wired in a radio,or something similar, this could be the problem, maybe an over load to the circuit,so look for that also.If all this is fine, and you have changed the fuel pump relay out with a new one, then replace the fuel pump.If I can help, let me know.

Replace fuel pump

The fuel tank needs to be emptied and removed from the car. The electric fuel pump is located on the top of the fuel tank. Hope this helps
