How do we disconct the alarm as we didnt know we had one we were told last night to disconct the battery but when started car up this morning i have now got flashing lights and it wont go of can you help please car is a 1996 peugeot 306 cabriolet

Sounds like the anti-theft/alarm system was triggered.
Have you tried locking and unlocking the driver door with the key to disable the alarm ?
And you need at least 12 volts to crank the engine so the battery may need to be charged up first.
Temporary fix until you find someone who knows. When you pull into your place to park the car for the night, or whatever, go ahead and unhook the battery. Re-hook up the battery when you are ready to drive it again. That will at least keep you from not driving it at all.
2008 F-150 4WD twice now the alarm suddenly is triggered and I cannot start truck. 1st time replaced battery, which I was told was ok, truck started fine for 6 weeks. Now problem is back but can not start truck even with a jump start on new battery. Reset light under dash is flashing frantically and now if I push remote to unlock, all locks unlock on first push.
