Turning of oil service light on OBD II

Hi i have Just Bought a Bmw 318 ti Compact and the oil service light is showing. Since i do my own oil servicing how do turn the service light off without Paying a BMW Dealer.

This might help:

3 Series (E30) 1986-94
With underbonnet diagnostic
connector
Oil service LED
Switch ignition ON.
Connect LED test lamp between terminal 7 of
the engine diagnostic connector and earth
Fig. 84765. Diagnostic connector located
adjacent to left or right-hand turret or on
bulkhead.
After 3 seconds 5 green LED's will illuminate.
Switch ignition OFF.
Inspection service LED
Switch ignition ON.
Connect LED test lamp between terminal 7 of
the engine diagnostic connector and earth
Fig. 84765. Diagnostic connector located
adjacent to left or right-hand turret or on
bulkhead.
After 12 seconds 5 green LED's will
illuminate.
Switch ignition OFF.
Inspection service LED together with
clock symbol
E46: Service interval indicator can only be
reset using suitable diagnostic equipment.
Excluding E46:
Switch ignition ON.
Connect LED test lamp between terminal 7 of
the engine diagnostic connector and earth
Fig. 84765. Diagnostic connector located
adjacent to left or right-hand turret or on
bulkhead.
After 12 seconds 5 green LED's will
illuminate.
Switch ignition OFF.
Wait 20 seconds.
Switch ignition ON.
Connect LED test lamp between terminal 7 of
the engine diagnostic connector and earth.
After 12 seconds 5 green LED's will
illuminate.
Switch ignition OFF.

My recommendation is definitely in the certified sevis because if you make a wrong conection wires can spoil the main computer

How do i change oil filter and fuel filter on a bmw 318 ti compact 1997

The oil filter should be in a housing with a plastic top with a big hex shape on top. You remove it with a 36mm wrench or socket.
Then you remove the O-ring from the cover and replace it with a freshly oiled up new O-ring from the filter package. Pull out the old filter and press in the new one. Screw the cover back down. No need to overtighten. The O-ring is the seal.

Bmw compact s reg. noisy when turning steering

Look inside the reservoir while the car is running and see if it is low. If it is turn the car off and add power steering fluid. You can purchase at a gas station or parts house. Some people use transmission fluid but it is not a good Idea because it can cetch on fire if you have leak in your power steering system. You can look for leaks when you have someone steer the car fom side to side. Make sure you turn the wheel tight so the whinng is at it's loudest. Check your power steering hoses and rack and pinion,etc. Hope this helps leave a comment.

My 318 ti compact starts up on 2 cylinders then on 4, all plug leads have been replaced as have the plugs i read that frequent oil changes help the valves work better could this be the trouble with the...

check the distributer cap for cracks ect

My 99 bmw 318 e46 service light after resetting from inspection has reverted to oil service 25000k and will not reset no matter how many times I try. The speedo reading is 54000k. Does this mean I havve to...

indicator lights come on often when the sensor has failed and needs replacing the computer itself may be faulty and is not resetting and may need to be replaced
