Hello experts,
I am working on a 1998 Dodge Dakota R/T that hit a pole on the right front corner, taking out the fender bumper, grill, hood, radiator, radiator fan etc. This repair (disassembly) was started by somebody else. There are missing bolts, bushings etc, mainly centered around the radiator and front of the engine compartment. Where can I get a detailed assembly drawing of the engine compartment that will show all of the parts, nuts, bolts, washers, bushings, brackets, SRS sensors etc.

The headlight relay for a 1998 Dodge Dakota is located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) under the hood. The PDC is a black box located on the driver's side of the engine compartment. The relay for the headlights is labeled on the underside of the PDC cover. You can refer to your owner's manual for a diagram of the PDC and the location of the headlight relay.
you will need to remove fan shroud and transmission line along with upper and lower radiator hoses then unbolt the radiator the lift it up thru the top of engin compartment and do a reverse install.
open the hood look where the lights are and on the engine bay side there is the headlight plugs going to the light, disconnect them then on the outside of the truck there is 3 bolts that hold the assembly in place, remove them and it should fall out
double check because I believe the refrigerant switch off took place in the early 90's and freon was discontinued in automotive applications. Specified amount should be on tag in engine compartment...
On the firewall in the engine compartment. Service Parts ID Plate. To the right of the wiper motor. Marked as V.I.N Also above the LH headlamp and on the chassis in front of the RH rear wheel.
YOU HAVE WHATS CALLED A TENSIONER PULLEY IN FRONT OF ENGINE , ONE OF TWO PULLEYS THAT ARE SLICK (NO GROOVES). THE TENSIONER PULLEY IS WHAT YOUR AFTER. IT WILL BE ATTACHED TO A SLOTTED BRACKET WITH A BOLT HEAD DIRECTLY BEHIND IT.(LOOKING AT ENGINE FROM FRONT OF VEHICLE ITS USUALLY ON YOUR FAR RIGHT!) FIRST UNLOOSEN BOLT ON FRONT OF PULLEY ABOUT FIVE TURNS , THEN MOVE TO BOLT ON TOP BEHIND PULLEY , AND START UNLOOSENING IT TILL PROPER TENSION IS RELEASED TO SLIDE BELT OVER ALL PULLEYS(USE BELT DIAGRAM UNDER HOOD FOR PROPER INSTALLATION. ONCE BELT IS ON REVERSE STEPS 1 AND 2. TIGHTEN TOP BOLT BEHIND TENSION PULLEY TILL BELT HAS ABOUT A QUARTER INCH PLAY IN IT UP AND DOWN (DON'T OVER TIGHTEN).THEN TIGHTEN FRONT PULLEY BOLT TILL VERY SNUG.YOUR DONE! BELT MAY NEED RE-TIGHTENED AFTER DRIVING A FEW DAYS , BUT YOUR AN EXPERT NOW AND THAT WON'T BE A PROBLEM. HOPE THIS HELPED!
