I am having a problem with my 04 Grand Prix blower motor staying on with the key off. Im not understanding what you mean by the blower control module connector. Is this under the dash? Or are you talkin about the fuse box? Also what does this capacitor look like? My pink fuse looks fine.

SOURCE: 2004 Grand Prix blower

assuming you know where your blower motor is you can check the motor for power with the switch on and see if you have battery voltage at the connector. if you do then it is a bad blower motor. Most of the time when a resistor goes out it will work on high only but no other settings. with it not working at all seems to be motor. Hope this is helpful.

SOURCE: 04 grand prix shuts off

My 04 Grand Prix was doing the same thing. Not sure if what I found was the reason for it, but I removed the air filter portion of the intake, reached into the intake a little pulling the throttle plate down. It was caked in carbon build up. With a lint free rag and some throttle body cleaner, I scrubbed the plate and since have not had anymore issues with the car not starting. Hope this helps anyone.

SOURCE: heater and ac blower

I have an '04 with approx. 79000 miles; the blower is going out on mine too. The motor is probably burned out and you will need to replace it. It's about $90 for the part. Kind of a pain to change; I changed the blower motor on my 97 'prix and I had to lay upside down on the passenger seat and work on it upside down. Other than a little physically uncomforable, not too hard to do.

SOURCE: i changed the blower motor and resistor on my 2005

doesnt work on all speeds? ck the big purple wire at the blower motor, on high speed, it should have battery voltage, if it does, then check the black wire, it should have "0" volts (or ground it, see if it then works). If the purple wire does not have power then fuse #30 (30 amp) may be bad.If the black wire has more than "0" volts then the ground may be bad or the "blower motor control processor" =( resistor) is bad, or the ground for it is bad. the ground wire ends up at the cross beam behind radio. If you ground the black wire at the resistor, and it works, then you have a bad ground at the wire, behind the radio. Good Luck.

2006 Grand Prix GT blower motor stops working on start up in cold

Rather then rigging it , fix it right ! The blower motor could be bad . Testing the electrical circuit , checking current draw , voltage drop . etc.... Hooking up a light switch isn,t going to keep it on if parts are failing . More then likely the blower motor control processor is going bad . The blower motor is electronically controlled .

Some customers may comment on an inoperative or intermittent Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) blower motor. Others may comment that the blower motor speed may momentarily drop or that the blower motor continues to run after the key is turned off.
Cause
This condition may be caused by a voltage spike from the wiper motor. The voltage spike may cause a logic lock up in the blower motor control module that may be either momentary or permanent.

2000 pontiac grand prix gt air conditioner keeps running after turning the car off, what would cause that? i pulled the fuses and they were good.

there is a module beside the blower motor under glovebox. this module control fan motor. when these control modules fail one of the issues is that the motor will stay on when ignition is turned off. most common on automatic heating systems.

The A/C fan in my 04 Grand Prix will NOT shut off.

CLICK HERE for a schematic of your blower.

Your blower is not shutting off - so your BMCP (Blower Motor Control Processor) has malfunctioned... or the HVAC Control Module has failed.

Both provide power to the blower motor.

To check which one has failed - pull the HVAC control fuse RADIO/HVAC/RFA/CLSTR/ALDL (15Amp) and see if the fan shuts off - if not - try the BMCP fuse HI/BLWR (30Amp) - Both are listed listed at the top of the schematic.

Vent fan is not shutting off

The blower motor speed control module is most likely shorted. This is very common on the gm w-body cars such as your grand prix.

Order and install a new blower motor speed control module and install. It is located in the hvac box, passenger side, near the blower motor.

2005 Grand Prix GT

There is a heater resistor module, it is located on the passenger side under the dash by the blower motor. It is a bit tricky to get to but isnt to hard to replace. I just dealt with this issue in May. The unit cost me about 86 dollars from the dealer. But be careful becuase normally the resistor goes due to a short in another component in the syste, so this may not be the complete fix for you. My main culprit ended up being the blower motor.

Good Luck
