When i try to start my 2008 grand prix with the factory remote start the alarm goes off and the car does not start

i will assume you want a real answer not wild guess
or the captain obvious get the car serviced.

WHY SKIP THE SCANS, OBD2 PORT,? USA CAR?????

Sounds like a battery issue. First have battery checked on car. If that checks ok then check battery in your fob. If that checks ok then check for good continuity of your battery cables.

sounds like your factory alarm is not working with the remote starter. it happens a lot with the new cars. check the BCM that runs the factory alarm.

try unlocking the doors with your factory remote first then press your remote start button, if it starts without your panic alarm sounding you need to check under the dash and make sure that the disarm wire is hooked up securly to the purple wire at the bcm

Chances are it is an electric contact inside of one of the door latches not making good contact. The BCM is getting a signal that one of the doors is being opened and thinks the car is being stolen. Usually ends up being the drivers door as it is used more than the others.

If it is a GM factory remote starter try double clicking on the lock button first and then click the start button.

Have you found out what was going on? My car just started doing it as well.

you need to go to an alarm installer and have them disarm the alarm. If you try to disarm yourself, you could possibly damage computer configurations.

If it is the factory alarm it will deactivate when you put the key in and turn it to start the car,if it is a aftermarket add on it will have to be removed from the car.
