If you replaced the solenoid was there one wire to the solenoid or two? If the new solenoid had two small posts did you connect the single wire to the S (starter) or I (ignition) side? If you connected to the I side this is your problem. If you had two wires were they swapped from original locations? If not check and see that you are getting electricity from the ignition switch to the solenoid. Have someone hold the key at the start position and measure if you have 12+ volts at the S side of the solenoid.

Check your Tickler wire on the Solenoid. There is a Website, PDFOO.com which is suppose to have diagrams.

When you installed the Ignition switch, was the Ignition in the Run position? As I recall there were also some slight adjustments to make for centering the Ignition switch. The cable or rod that works the Neutral start and the Interlock depend on the length of the cable to position the Interlock for starting. The switch may be new, but if the adjustments are off it won't work.

If you have a Stickshift, there was a safety switch on the clutch linkage so that the clutch had to be pressed for the Starter to engage.

I hope this info will help you.

I replaced the starter ,alternator ,main fuse, and new battery ...and I'm not getting any fire from the battery to crank it ....does anyone know what this problem is ??? ////98 ford explorer

Check the starter solenoid and the connections from the battery to ground, battery to fusebox, ignition key switch, neutral or park safety starting switch, solenoid, and solenoid to starter. Make sure you have ignition key switch wires connected to the solenoid - without them - the solenoid can not close to send 12V to the starter.

Do you know how your starting system works ? Do you know about the starter relay ? All power comes to an through the starter relay . The park neutral safety switch is on the transmission. VEHICLE RELAYS Testing from the relay base If you have a anti-theft system problem the engine computer - PCM will not let the starter engage . Go to www.bbbind.com for a free wiring diagram of the starter circuit on your vehicle .

1990 oldsmobile 442 horn multi relay affect the starter ?

No, the horn circuit has no connection to the starter. There is not even a starter relay in your starting circuit.
The ignition switch sends power out the yellow start wire with key in start. The start wire goes through the neutral safety switch and then, as a purple wire, goes to the starter solenoid on the starter. When the purple wire has power, the solenoid engages the starter motor to the positive battery cable.

It sounds like a fault in the starter circuit. It could be a defective neutral safety switch, starter solenoid, or possible a defective ignition switch but I doubt it. Can you hear the starter solenoid??? I'm willing to bet the problem is either with starter relay, neutral safety switch, or starter solenoid.

1998 ford f150 doesnt have signal for starter solenoid and ignition switch is new

Using a jumper wire, connect the S. terminal on the starter relay to the battery connection on the relay. the starter should engage. if it does not, your problem is between the starter relay and the starter itself. if it does engage, check your neutral safety switch if you have an automatic , or your clutch pedal switch if you have a standard shift.

2001 mustang gt,all access. work fully charged

I would suspect the starter solenoid has failed.

A starter solenoid (or starter relay) is the part of an automobile which relays a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion. In many vehicles the solenoid also engages the starter pinion with the ring gear of the engine.

The starter solenoid receives a large electric current from the car battery and a small electric current from the ignition switch. When the ignition switch is turned on, a small electric current is sent to the starter solenoid. This causes the starter solenoid to close a pair of heavy contacts, thus relaying a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion. The starter motor is an electric motor that initiates piston motion in a car's internal combustion engine before it can power itself.
