2002 Ford Crown Vic 4.6L. EATCM A/C, Heating system. Replaced the blend door actuator due to stripped gear inside it. Before replacement could hear clicking noise coming from dash during temperature changes but nothing happened. Only hot air came out all positions. A/C is engaged and working at this time. Could switch from defrost to floor to panel to defrost/floor with no problem. Red and blue buttons showed temperature change but blend door did not move only clicked. After awhile the clicking noise stopped but still no change in temperature coming from vents. After replacement of bad blend door acuator with new blend door actuator still no movement of blend door actuator. Only hot air. Tried to pull codes from EATCM but nothing at all showed up on EATCM window. Could stripped out actuator have caused EATCM to go bad from reading different information from door position, outside temp, inside temp and digital temp on display or does the EATCM have to be reset with a scanner?

Sorry Bunnydawg. The problem is infact that the EATCM is faulty. Fault occured while the electronic blend door actuator stripped internal gears. Blend door wiper could not correspond with digital readout of EATCM causing a feedback of mixed signals. Thanks for the advise though.

That clicking noise you hear is likely a relay in the fuse panel that needs to be replaced. the easiest way to find out which relay it is would be to put you finger on each relay as you actuate the device not working. once you locate the clicking relay replace it . to reset the computer just unhook the battery for about ten minutes. if you have an anti theft radio make sure you know the code for it and how to enter it before you unhook the battery.

Heat wont heat up, just replaced thermostat.

There are several possible reasons why you may be experiencing cool or no heat in your 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo after replacing the thermostat and bleeding the air out of the lines. Some possible causes could include:
  1. A malfunctioning blend door or actuator: The blend door controls the mix of hot and cold air that is directed through the heating system. If the blend door or actuator is not functioning properly, it may cause a lack of heat.
  2. A clogged heater core: The heater core is responsible for transferring heat from the engine to the cabin of the vehicle. If the heater core is clogged, it may not be able to transfer heat effectively, resulting in cool or no heat.
  3. A faulty thermostat: If the thermostat was not properly installed or is not functioning correctly, it may cause the heating system to not work properly.
  4. A problem with the water pump: The water pump is responsible for circulating coolant through the engine and heating system. If the water pump is not functioning properly, it may cause a lack of heat.

No cold air inside the car

try rechecking the blend door actuator and its connections, fuse, etc. also if your AC system is overcharged it will blow warm air.

2004 crown vic; cannot turn off heat

Probably the "blend door actuator" inside the dash..

It opens/closes a flap to allow air flow across
the heater core or the a/c evaporator.

Its basically an electric servo and position is controlled by the knob.

My 2002 ford explorer the temp. Control knob when you change it it makes a loud clicking sound and it will no longer blow cold air only hot.

there is an actuator that controlls a blend door that is called a blend door actuator. This "door" is inside the evaporator case and it opens and closes to divert air over either the evaporator (for air conditioning) or the heater core (for heat) and can be somewhere in between for warm air. your temp knob sends an electric signal to this actuator to controll that door. the actuator has plastic gears inside of it that can become stripped of its teeth causing a "tapping" sound. These trucks comonly have this problem. The actuator is screwed on to the evaporator case and the blend door actuator is a mounted on top either behind the radio or the glove box. It;s about the size of a deck of cards

My 1996 Ford Explorer heater control seems to be stuck somehow. It constantly blows hot air, even when the control knob is turned to the coldest position there is no change in temp. I have checked out...

Since you're talking about the white box it sounds like you're familiar enough to proceed a bit further. Remove the three screws (8mm head) and lift the blend boor actuator off (white box). Manually move the blend door and see if your temp changes. These blend doors have plastic gears inside that strip and don't allow full movement. If you have a change in temperature then replace the actuator.

Cold air comes out when i turn on my heat and i hear a clicking noise. 2004 ford explorer v8

yes, common problem. Blend door actuator is stripping it's gears. Remove actuator and make sure door rotates by hand. If not remove heater box and repair door operation. If it moves OK by hand, replace the actuator. I don't have procedures for replacing yours, but follow the sound, removing whatever panels necessary to get to it. The part looks like the below pic and sits flat on the heater box with a cable coming out of it. Cost is about $35. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Heating and cooling

Its the blend door control motor. It makes a thumping noise when it strips the gears. You need a book or repair shop to replace the correct motor.
