ok you crank the engine over, it starts,
it can rev. to 3000 rpm for 1 second in park ?
y/n?
you then select, all gears forward and reverse and car can not move on flat ground, all brakes off?
can you push car in neutral on flat ground, , y/n ?
if no, brakes are bad. (or something more serious , ask)
if yes, tranny is dead (but....)
the if RPM rises, on engine (right foot action) and car MPH is 0
and rpm keeps rising that is a bad tranny (called slip or flare) in "D"
if you set the brakes hard,
and do the A/T stall test. (read the FSM)
and the RPM is way low that is a bad engine. (weak engine power)
if the RPM is good, stall tested. the engine and tranny are working. ( brakes stuck or frozen in ice?)
if the RPM flares, at stall test. it's a bad tranny
do the stall test for 5 sec max. rest for 15min and repeat.
STALL, test, makes tons of ATF heat. and heats the TC big time
RTM, it's all there. See FSM and read the manual.
WHAT YEAR? CAR. the engine tachometer reads what. that whole post is a contradiction. ahh, you mean the engine does not accelerate, or the engine bogs. 600 RPM is why below, 800 normal (most cars) the engine stalls, well sure it will as low idle speed will surely do. so the real post is my engine stalls. and if i try WOT ,it will go above 600 rpm in or out of gear? wot means wide open throttle. can the engine race to 3000RPM in PARK (or neutral) if engine power is ok, full WOT power up a hill and is only and idle problem say some. and we work bad idle.
the top reason for stalls (besides #1 never ever doing the 60k mile service, repeats at every 60k)_ is a stuck open EGR (part of same service to do that but Ill add that) or stuck closed ISC (electric IAC)
have you connected all the vacuum hoses correctly? or have you an air leak? (accelerator pedal is an air flap so if you have a leak you have too much air hence stall....)
Honestly I wish I could offer you more info, if it revs now that eliminates the convertor, only I can figure is when you got it to rev you were "blowing the soot out" LOL I hope I have helped you some if so please rate me accordingly.
Did the car always do this, or has it just started?
