I am having problems with my titan and i need to put a light fuse so i can have lights on my toe pack to carry a boat? the light is not showing on the lights from where it holds the boat what can i do.
I have a 2007 Titan and unless yours came from the factory with a towing package you will have to install 2 relays in the fuse box under the hood on the passenger side. Otherwise the trailer will not have lights. I don't know what will happen if you try and hardwire your trailer wiring into the harness (like on most older vehicles) but with these new computer controlled vehicles now days, you might run the risk of frying something VERY expensive. My truck is the base model and DID NOT have the relays. Unfortunately they are only available at Nissan. I went to my salesman and told him what I needed. He is an honest sort of person and got me the two relays from the parts department free of charge. I can't remember how much they WOULD have cost-------I think about $50.00 if I remember right.
Plug them in, (a mechanic in the back will gladly show you exactly where) plug in the aftermarket trailer harness and you're all set.

Eric,
Does the break light on the top of the cab work? If so the fuse and stop lamp relay are ok.
If not the 10 amp fuse in fuse box (JB) maybe open # 20 Stop Lamp passenger side panel . If it is good there is a stop lamp relay (E12) in fuse box under hood from the manual it is the second one in from the left by the battery. Also there is a(VDC) Control Unit (E125) can't find where in the manual it is located.
You would think that the power from the battery , fuse switch to lights not, that is why I got the complete manual for the truck. hard to under stand at times.
Start by checking if your brake lights work since the shift interlock and the brakes use the same fuse. If they don't you have a bad fuse. If the do then you might have either a bad shift interlock or a bad break switch.
check fuses first then start car put in drive do lights come on yes no if no put car back in park let car run check all the lights first are they on yes no if no turn on the lights do they all work yes no if no could be fuse problem wire problem if yes they work the drl unit could be defective you can call dealer for $ of drl or a aftermarket company like auto parts might carry one or a scrap yard in your area might have a good one
I think it is most likely a wiring problem causing this. Titans are notorious for having the exhaust rust through after the muffler. I would trace the passenger side wiring harness back and check for fused together wires. I take it your Titan is a floor shifter not a column. If so I suggest taking the circular cap off right by the shifter (shift interlock over ride). If you can put a key in and compress the over ride then you should be able to shift through gears to rule out a transmission problem. No maf sensor would cause this, nor would a bad transmission. Make sure to check all fuses that are labeled electronic parts, they are connected to your interlock system. The abs and wheel speed sensor is what is making it impossible to shift into 4x4 . All of these problems are separate fuses, but the wires are all in the same harness running past the exhaust.
if you go to the parts store they make them ready to plug in you will have to just unplug the tail lights and plug the wire harness inplace of it then itll plug back into the original spot.
sounds to me like the fault lies between the trailer plug on YOUR truck ( not the work truck ) and the L/R brake and signal light assy on YOUR truck. Just follow the harness from the plug. You'll find the problem. Hope this helps
