* does your cruise control work?
* do you brake lights work?
* does your dome light work?
The 10 amp IGI #2 fuse controls several other components including the dome light, cruise control, and brake lights.
A dim or dead display is a very common problem with the 05-09 Tacoma. The console is very prone to internal failure. I offer a reasonable repair service with a lifetime guarantee, check it out: www.autoclockrepair.com
There is a bunch of useful info there. Drop me an email if you have questions, thanks!

Normally the sensor for your fan is located in the bottom of the antifreeze resevoir. Once it senses the coolant has reached temperature, it closes the circuit and sends the signal to the computer to turn the fans on.

My rear view mirror no longer displays the temperature and direction

MeeMee538,

There is usually an on off button on the mirror. Double check to make sure it was not turned off. If that is not the case, then you can check your manual for the fuse location for the mirror. Typically the fuses are located inside the car either under the dash or by the kick panel. Once you read the manual you will find the referenced location of the fuse and can go from there.

Good luck

1996 Honda Odyessey engine cooling fans don't come on and engine on and engine temperature tends to go up. it will only come on when the AC is switched on. i do not need to run the AC all the time but i...

Check all fuses first. if the fuses are okay, disconnect the engine cooling fan connector and using jumper wires, connect the fan motor directly to the battery and ground. If the fan still doesn't work, replace it. If the fan does work, its relay may be faulty. Check in the engine compartment fuse box for the cooling fan relays. Try switching the cooling fan relays and see if the engine fan comes on and the a/c condensor fan stops working. If so, the engine cooling fan relay is faulty. If the engine fan still doesn't come on with a good relay, then check the engine temperature switch located at the passenger end of the front cylinder head. It is supposed to switch (have continuity) when the engine temperature reaches 205 deg F. You can remove the switch and put it in a pot of close to boiling water (212 deg F). If it doesn't have continuity at that temperature, it is defective.

2002 Cadillac DeVille...radiator cooling fans not turning...coolant boils if car idles too long, ok as long as I am moving. Engine temp normal. What are the easy checks to determine why cooling fans not...

I would recommend checking all of the fuses first. The next step is to see if the fan/fans are functional by connecting a hot wire to the fan motor directly. Try turning on the AC and seeing if the fans kick on then. The most common issue is the radiator temperature sending unit has failed. The only solution for this issue is to replace the sending unit. It is normally located in the bottom of the radiator. This one tells the fans to turn on and off. There is another temperature sending unit that is located in the block and it is for measuring the engines operating temperature.

Cooling fans will not come on

Hi,

Fan Relay switch is stuck open. This of course assumes your temperature sensor is working appropriately. Which I assumed since you seem to know that the engine is running hot.

Replace the fan relay switch. The relay switch is tripped when the temperature sensor tells the computer the engine is too hot.

Until you get the relay switch replaced, you can either by-pass the relay switch and directly connect the fans to the battery, or turn on your A/C ALL the time and use it at a minimum setting. This will keep the cooling fans running at all times.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
