2008 Jeep Liberty Having problems with the window defrost on the drivers side. Both the front window and the drivers door window actually ice up and I've had to scrape them before I can drive. This problem doesn't happen on the passanger side. Very little air blows through the vents on the drive side. Is this common and is there a fix?

SOURCE: 97 Sierra no heat on passanger defrost or floor

I assume you have the dual climate control feature on your truck. it sounds like you have door problems. The heating system has several doors inside the box and duct work that divert the air from defrost to face and feet...i'm not 100% sure if the ones in your truck are electronic or vaccum, but i think they are electronic. From time to time the actuators that control the door go out, as every electric motor does. You need to find the ones that have quit and replace them. It is possible that the arm(s) on the actuator(s) have broken loose from the doors and are working but not pushing or pulling the doors properly...if might help to remove the front seats...just to help save your back....working under the dash is hard on your body....and it take a good half day to remove the dash, so working under it is actually less work.

SOURCE: Heater problems on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Please Help!!

THis is a know problem with Jeep GC. If only one side is cold and the other is hot and there are no controls error codes. It is likely a broken temperature blend door on the faulty side (w/ dual controls). Dealer charges a lot to fix ~$800. There is a kit and instructions sold on EBAY to replace the part for $100. Seller claims that a relative novice can fix w/o removing the entire dash board as the dealer does. Has sold hundreds of kits....people seem satisfied....you may check it out. Search Heater Blend Door Jeep on ebay. Replacement parts are aluminum instead of OEM plastic.

Self Diagnostics on HVAC system. Jeep GC has built in diagnostics and will return error codes on the temp display if it is otherwise. Simple to display.
1) Press A/C and Recir button simutaneously
2) Rotate driver temp control knob clockwise then release buttons
3) If no controls error a code of "0" or "00" will be returned.
4) Error codes listings can be found on-line if anything but zero

Dealers charge $45 to run the same check

2008 jeep liberty limited door window control not working for front windows

Check for broken wires inside the flex connection between the body and the drivers door . Your vehicle has electronic modules inside the doors for control of lock's , windows , power mirrors . Watch this video ,it's a dodge vehicle but has same electronic's as jeep .

Jeep liberty 2008

When you open the hood look on the drivers side of the engine. There will be a pulley(Power Steering Pump) that your belt goes around, right under it on the back side is where your oil filter is located. It hangs down slightly angled towards the front of the vehicle. (This is of course the 3.7 liter V6)
