How do I replace power mirror switch, ford f250?

This mirror control switch will pop right out with just a thin blade type screw driver. Slide the blade of the screw driver under the edge of the switch carefully and twist slowly until you can see the switch coming up. You may need to re position the switch as there is a bit of play in the hole the switch fits into to. Once you have the switch up and out of the panel, carefully release the wires it is clipped to and replace it with one that is good. It is a typical sign these witches have gone bad if your mirror only moves in 2 directions or both mirrors are moving at the same time. I hope I have helped you with your problem.

How do I remove the ignition tumbler on a 1992 Explorer?

  1. 1 Open the hood. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Peel back the insulator if equipped, and use the wrench to loosen the clamp nut on the negative cable.
  2. 2 Remove the covers on the steering column. Use the screwdriver to pull out the screws, and detach the knee bolster below the steering column. Pull out the screws and detach the lower cover to find the screw for the upper cover; then remove the upper cover in the same manner.
  3. 3 Remove the multifunction switch by pulling out its retaining screw and pushing on the release lever to detach the switch from the column.
  4. 4 Disconnect the ignition switch's electrical connector. Then detach the switch from the steering column by pressing on its clips to release the tabs.
  5. 5 Install the new ignition switch in the old one's place, making sure the locking tabs activate and the spring under the switch is in position on the column's locking rod. Connect the electrical connector.
  6. 6 Reconnect all other parts on the steering column in reverse order of removal. Replace the negative battery cable.
  7. 7 Insert your ignition key to test for proper operation in all three positions: "Lock," "Accessory" and "Start."

How to replace driver side mirror on 1999 GMC Jimmy. Just need steps for removing old one and can take it from there. Thanks!

if there is a plastic cover directly behind the mirror on the inside of the car it should come off by gently prying it with a flat blade or screwdriver around the edge of it as most are held on by plastic clips.
Once it is removed it will expose the nuts or bolts that hold the mirror to the door but dont forget to remove the electric wire plug that leads to the mirror

Cant remove the rotor and retainer clip

You will need a large bearing retaining nut socket (1-in drive) about 2 7/16th in or 61/62mm (I got mine at NAPA with a 1/2 in to 1-in drive converter) BUT BEFORE loosening the nut there is a small keeper under the bottom edge the nut at the top (12-oclock) position of the nut. Use a magnet to retrac this and then loosen the large bearing nut. You sometimes have to slightly move the nut "a hair" left or right to remove this bearing keeper. Once the keeper is out the nut will easily come off. The rest is easy. Good Luck!

How do you get the front door panel off of a 2003 ford explorer xlt to replace the mirror

1. on the inside, remove the plastic trim that is directly inside of the left side rear view mirror.. should just snap off.
2. remove the lens from the reflector/courtesy lamp on the door.
3. pop the plastic trim holding the window switches ...pull up on the front edge (closet to hood) and tip it up until you can release the back edge of the switch plate.
4. unhook the wire connections from the switches... look for the lock tab release lever...they're color coded and only fit in one location so don' worry about where they go..
5. There are two small screws to remove...one below where the switches were, and the other behind the lens of the reflector on the door.
Once you get these out, lift straight up on the panel and it will unhook from the slots in the door.
6. unplug the courtesy light from it's spot in the door panel by twisting.
that should get you there!

Power window off track

Remove the door panel and the armrest. Then you will need to slip a thin flat blade screwdriver under the panel and gently pry up to release the plastic keepers that attach the door panel. Then you can remove the panel and gain access to the window regulator and track. Be gentle prying out the plastic keepers so you don't damage the panel. Some of the keepers may break, but you can get more from Ford or your local parts house. These are a very common piece. Good luck.
