2005 Nissan Frontier LE 6cyl intermittent starting problem...starts fine one day, next day it won't start at all. Had it towed to a repair shop and it was running fine for 2 days while they had it. Repair shop said that the truck would have to be having the problem in order for them to repair it. I picked it up, drove it home and the next morning it didn't start and it hasn't started since, about 2 weeks now. I'm afraid if I have it towed again it will start and the mechanic won't be able to fix it. The truck has 90K miles and just had a new fuel pump installed about 2 months ago. Took the truck on vacation right after fuel pump was installed and traveled about 2,500 miles with no problem. Any clues as to what could be causing this?

make sure all your tire pressures are above 35psi. the light will come on if your tires are below 28 psi. check all your tires for tire pressure. if pressures are low, add air and drive truck at 35+mph for about 1 mile and the light will go out unless you have a sensor problem, but fotha the light will be flashing. so to sum it up, check your tirpressures and make sure, that you have 35 psi in all 4 tires.

I am no expert, but I just had a similar problem. The car would shake and buck when accelerating. It finally just died and would not start. After sitting for some time, the car would start and run a while, then do the same thing. I thought fuel pump. The dealer diagnosed distributor. After replacing, the car is running perfect. Something to think about. Good luck.

If it is bad gas you would be able to smell it usually. When gas goes bad it turns to like varnish and the smell ( believe me- once you have smelled it) you will never forget what it smells like. If the engine light is on, check the trouble codes. On a 1995 Nissan Sentra it was the first year of OBD 2 systems so it should have a hookup for the scan tool but if you don't have a scan tool you can still retrieve the codes from the ECU or the check engine light.
Under the dash behind the center console is the ECU. You will need to get to it(Don't disconnect it from it's wiring harness ) Just be able to access it and I believe on the side of the ECU isa Diagnostic Mode Selector which you will move to the left and turn ignition switch to on position(not start) and watch how the check engine light flashes. Sometimes it will flash fast and sometimes slow. Then it will repeat. Example a long beep then 4 quick beeps would be a code 14. Write down what yours is and get back with me. Good luck.

check to make sure the alternator is charging the battery.crank engine while idling the alternator out put should be 13.5 volts to 14.5 volts. if not alternator is not charging the battery.if alternator is charging battery.the battery is weak.if its over 5 years old its more likely battery.if battery not old checks out good .replace battery cables..
