Site i use for casting numbers is down at the moment
far as if a camaro motor would work in your truck yes small blocks between trucks and cars the same
there are 2- bolt main blocks
and there are 4-bolt main blocks
2 and 4 bolts are used in cars
and 2 and 4 bolts are used in trucks
main differance between truck motors and car motors are the add ons intake exhaust manifolds
heads the blocks them self are the same
trucks are usally geared lower but that in the tranny and rear end not in the motor
soon as my site comes back up i look up your number for u and give u link to site as well

    CASTING#.....SIZE...YEAR...MAIN CAP BOLTS....NOTES

14093627......305.....87-94.........2...................................Roller or flat tappet cam, one-piece rear seal

305 are very dependable block they will take as much punishment as u can throw at and ask for more
on the downside there not a big power house (if u want that go with a 350 are bigger) but are very dependable
about only 305 that i seen get destroyed is if there ran completely dry of oil and water
also here is a link for Chevy Castings numbers very handy site to book mark

2001 chrysler 300m engine number location

Generally .... the engine number will be always be stamped on the engine block just below the cylinder head. A number of Chrysler engines have it on the rear left side (driver side if not transverse mounted) ... but it can be on the front too. The key is to look right below where the head mates to the block. You may have to scrape/wire brush to see it. Attached video link shows on an older mopar smallblock engine.
Also ... depending on what you are looking for the VIN number (much easier to access) can tell a bit about the engine. In the series of numbers and letters, the tenth from the left in the VIN number denotes the model year and the eighth is the engine code.
Good luck on your troubleshooting

Gm motor identification

You will have to find the casting number on the block, heads, and intake to see if all those are original to that motor, but the block casting number will tell you what year it was made, and the types of vehicles it was used in. It might be difficult to pinpoint exactly what it was in originally if they used it in more than one type car, or produced it more that one year. You can google up a site that will help you find the block casting and decode it for you. Just type in GM engine block decoder
