How to repair leaking fuel line at the top of engine 1995 olds regency. The line seems to have a split in it. Gas is leaking out. I wrapped duct tape around the leak but leaks in a different spot now. Thanks

You might benefit from the 96 Regency Elite factory service manual purportedly available by a download for $22, if scrolling through pages or using CTRL F to hunt through a PDF is something you are comfortable with. car quit when you accelerate,could have stopped up fuel filter or weak fuel pump, check fuel pressure with new fuel filter should be 40 - 47 psi.if fuel okay could have massive intake leak,check for air leak at the air intake duct if air intact duct goes to air filter is open that will cause intake leak or intake manifold gasket leaking or ignition timing off timing chain could jump time for high mileage engine.

sounds like sending unit gasket is leaking. drop the gas tank...sorry

Hi there are only a few things really it could be, the main fuel lines run down that side of the car so id start by checking where they exit the firewall and go up to the fuel filter. It will either be a loose hose clamp or a split fuel line. Pretty much just check the fuel lines from the firewall to the entry of the engine and you cant go wrong just be careful of fumes around a warm engine

hi sounds like your high revving has accidenetaly pushed off one of the turbo boost pipes or possibly even split a hose causing it to leak boost pressure get a freind to lightly rev the engine
so you can hear where its coming from if youve split the hose you should find it quite quickly with the bonnet up, or if need be get car up on axle stands and listen for it underneath, for a temporary fix and i mean temporarary wrap the split with gaffer tape or duct tape will restore your boost but not if you give it max revs good luck

If it is leaking on top of gas tank you need to drop fuel tank.Have some one install a new brake line ,bypassing the old one.,it is easyer than dropping tank Good luck

Since you are broke I will not charge you for the advice.
The cheapest remedy is to wrap a cellophane sheet around it and then tie a string tight enough to not let any fuel leak above and below the leak point. Back it up with thick cello tape tightly. Make sure you dont choke the fuel hose.

Interesting problem. Not sure what the mechanic has tried - but I recommend that you test YOUR thought about heat on the fuel line. Try some aluminum foil wrapped on the line near and after any heat source... If that fixes it, YOU identified the problem . For perminent fix, just get some heat tape and wrap the line near any heat source and the 460 should be happy.

You might try wrapping the threads on the line nut with Teflon Gas pipe tape.

Replace plugs and wires at the same time.
