2002 GMC Yukon XL - Blend door actuator on front HVAC quit working after battery replacement. Tried battery reset and fuse removal reset options and they did not work. Can't believe actuator went band that easily. Another option to try?

No they do go but not by changing the battery its just whats known in the trade as the dominio effect ,us mechanics are used to it this is where you change one thing and something else down the line goes wrong and the poor old mechanic gets the blame ,I think its just coincidence that the actuator valve has decided to go at the same time as changing the battery ,Dominio effect no doubt you will change the valve and then you will get two punctures at the same time .

My 2002 Yukon xl front ac only blows outside air temp. Rear air works great what could it be??

The common cause of this is a failed air temperature control. blend door and or the electric actuator that moves it. The dealer can do a test scan to confirm this, the repair is very expensive if the blend door is the cause and it has burnt out the actuator motor because the door is warped and jammed, which is the most common cause.

To check the rear expansion valve, see if the a/c lines are different temperatures. One line to the rear evaporator should be hot and the other cold if it is working.
Try to recailbrate the blend door actuator. Remove the HVAC module fuse. Wait at least 15 seconds. Replace it, turn the key on and wait 40 seconds

It's possible the HVAC needs to recalibrate itself, try the following;
With key on, set all HVAC controls and switches to their OFF or CCW positions. Turn key off, disconnect battery for a few minutes, then reconnect battery. Turn key on, but do not touch any HVAC controls for about 2 - 3 minutes. After that, see if the vents and all other functions work. If this does not solve the problem, either the mode control actuator(s) or mode door(s) are stuck or defective.

How do you perform the reset for blower door actuators.changed battery, now clicking from dash

remove the HVAC fuse from the underhood fuse block. Wait 60 seconds. Reinstall the fuse. Turn the key to the run position, do not start. You should here the actuators running through there self test. After about a minute or two it should be all done.

Air Conditioner Problem

the most common problem here is a defective air temperature control blend door actuator, this is what moves the door that controls air flow across the heater core or the ac evaporator core, to replace this requires u remove the dash assembly.
