Hello. It seems your vehicle has a 'shorting/malfunctioning turn signal switch and/or 'grounding' wires in the wiring harness. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.
Its part of the hazard flasher switch , or should I say the switch is part of it ! Where is your flasher switch located ? In the radio bezel ? the trim plate around the radio if you don't know what a bezel is . Oh yea , to answer you question , yes turn signals do go through it !
located under dash to left of the steering colume. note there are 2 flasher relays one for the emergency flashers and the other is the signal flasher. to know which one is the signal one turn on the emergency lights and look for the flasher the one that is clicking is the e-flasher. the signal flasher looks the same locate it and replace.
Okay, the first thing to check is to turn on the signal on one side and see if the outside signal light comes on. if the light comes on then try replacing the flasher. Also see if your 4way flashers work or if they are also out. if they are out then check your fuse first. If the fuses are good then try the flasher, if the flasher does not solve the problem then you may need to replace the turn signal switch. I have worked on a few of these and most of the time it was a flasher or the turn signal switch. good day.
you don`t say but do the lights work either on the front/back on both sides.if not then it may be a fuse that needs replacing or need a bulb replacement.if the lights work but don`t flash then it sounds like a signal flasher problem.the flasher is located in the fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side.if the hazard flashers work then turn them on to find the hazard flasher by the fuse panel then you will know what the signal flasher looks like and change the signal flasher.make sure you change the one for the signals and not the hazard one.if the hazards work then i would say the signal switch is good as the hazards work through the same switch.
The turn signal Flasher Relay on your 1998 Lincoln Town Car is located on the driver's side, behind the dash, mounted on passenger side of the steering column. Purchase one before replacing so you will know what you are looking for.
Turn signal flasher module is behind dash left of steering column near chime module. I have a 94 Seville and I had that same problem you need a Turn Signal Flasher Moduel, I forgot the proper term for it but I had to get mine replaced too. When I hit the signals to turn the side light would come on but the signal light wouldn't. Its a little box you get from Cadillac it only cost like $20 - $25 and you get it installed and trust. It'll work again. I just got mine done this week and my car now has turn signals again.
The flasher for a 2000 Jetta is in the hazard light switch in the middle of the dash. If you want to replace the flasher, you'll need to replace that switch.
