You have to remove the throttle body and clean it really good there is a small hole through the butterfly that usually gets plugged up with grime also remove the idle air control valve that needs cleaning while you have throttle body out. do this and clear your codes and i am sure you wont have a low idle again. in any case do not adjust the idle screw that is never the solution.

I just purchased in 1999 Honda CRV DX, it had been sitting for a couple of years put fresh gas in plugs and changed oil, and it is running a little rough still. I'm thinking of doing new wires .'

I recommend changing the fuel filter, air filter, and adding Seafoam Fuel System Cleaner into the gas tank to clean the injectors as well as replacing the wires.

Rpm problems with no check engine light on

If the RPM is high check for a vacuum leak. Examine all vacuum hoses for cracking or disconnections. If no problem is found, spray carburetor cleaner on the intake manifold and any other gasketed areas on the top of the engine. If, when spraying, the engine RPM fluctuates, then suspect a gasket leak where the spray is entering the engine. Also check throttle body for sticking. Clean it with carburetor cleaner.

Low RPM could indicate a clogged fuel filter, low gas, dirty or bad fuel injectors. If engine idle is low because it is running poorly (e.g., a misfire), check engine for misfire. Misfires can be caused by bad spark plugs, bad spark plug wires, bad fuel injectors, a bad coil pack, low compression in a cylinder, etc. Check the obvious cheapest things first.

If RPM is varying up and down, check Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) for sticking or obstructions. You may need professional help at this point.

My 2002 buick rendezvous will not go above 4000 rpm's. The engine loses power and feels like it is misfiring.

Your best bet take it to a qualified repair shop that knows how to use scan data to find problems , not guessing ! A good repair shop could have diagnosed an fixed the problem with less cost then you put into already . Because without testing all I or anyone else on here would be guessing just like you . Carry on if you like making part stores rich .

I would check into replacing a fuel pressure regulator its easy to install and it usually under 10 bucks.

My mitsubishi chariot 98 vibrates when idling, what could be the problem?

A few possibilities are worn engine mounts (the rubber mounts that take away engine movement and vibration).....or rough engine idle ( maybe poor compression in one or more cylinders or other factors)....or maybe the engine idle speed is too low (typically 700 to 1000 rpm is normal depending on if AC is running which takes up more rpm) Alex

Hi, I have a 2006 Altima with 31,500 miles. Recently, the engine start shaking when car is Idle but I still feel the shake when driving or at red lights. My second problem is a weird loud (humming) noise...

You don't need to change the spark plugs since it has only 31.5 K. The plugs should last 60K. There is a an adjustment at the gas cable end at engine to increase the idle a little bit. You can increase rpm at idle to 600 RPM. Since your RPM at idle is low that why it is shaking at idle, red lights. Let me know it it is shaking at high speed ( 2500 RPM)

1996 Toyota Camry sporadicallystalling out when I come to a stop.

take your car to a parts supply store and ask them to use the diagnostic scan tool. Sounds like it could be the map, maf, or the tps. at a minium take the throttle body off and clean in or take your air cleaner off and spray some cleaner in the body while the engine is running.

The car hesitates when pushing on gas at 4000 rpms

Hi, i recommend changing the fuel filter and pump. these devices are dirty or clogged with debris. I also would recommend adding a fuel tank and injectors cleaner to the tank once you have replaced the pump and filter. this will scrub the fuel lines and injectors as well. this will increase the fuel economy of the car and it will clean the fuel system thoroughly. you should notice an improvement after you apply these changes to the cars fuel system.

Make sure the wires and plugs are in good condition. if the wires are old or fouled in any way, replace them along with a new set of spark plugs. change the air filter also.

please rate and have a great day:)
