SOURCE: cost to replace the water pump

Anytime you want this kind of info call the dealer and ask them what the book says as far as hours charged for that job. The pump should be 2 hrs at 75.00 an hour give or take. Hope it helps.

HOW TO REMOVE THE WATER PUMP 2006 DODGE

THIS IS NOT A DIY JOB! You will need to remove and replace the timing belt and tensioner. It requires the removal of several major vehicle componants. Unless you have prior mechanical experiance, DO NOT try this at home. Major engine damage will result from improper engine timing.

Overheat

Could be a number of things causing the overheating. A thermostat failed in the closed position. Remove thermostat and replace with a new one. Cooling fan(s) failed. Ensure they are working properly. Water pump could be shot. List goes on.
