Drivers side- reach your hand in front of the batter, you'll feel little rubber covers that just pop off so you can get to the bulbs.

Passenger side- take the air cleaner top off, you can now access that side.

Replace low beam headlamp 2004 trailblazer

Passenger side- remove the air cleaner (2-3 screws) Then you have clear access to the back of the headlight. Feel for the rubber round dust boot, and remove it. Then remove and replace the bulb.

Drivers side, stick your hand down behind the headlight, feel for the rubber round boot. Remove this and then remove and replace the bulb.

The other method involves removing the grill, but it's brittle so not worth cracking or breaking this.

How to change a headlight

Lift hood, at top of each headlight assembly look for two L-shaped tabs. Pull these tabs straight up, this will release the headlight assembly. Lift assembly forward to gain access to rear of assembly. There two rubber caps, the top one is for access to the low beam and the bottom for the high beam bulbs. Remove the appropriate cap, grasp bulb socket and turn CCW to release. Unplug bulb from socket by releasing catch on side of socket, install new bulb, DO NOT touch bulb glass with fingers. Reverse steps to re-assemble.

Head lights

You dont actually replace the headlight , just the bulb inside the headlight.. look inside the engine compartment at the back of the bulb , you just unplug the wire and either turn the bulb 1/4 turn to remove , or there will be a little spring clip.

should be 2 small rods that you rotate and pull up on, then the whole light assembly should pull off, giving you access to the bulbs.

Changing a headlight on a 2004 GMC Envoy

If it's the same as a Trailblazer you have to first remove the "bowtie" from the front between the two light bezels. Gentle pull forward and the pressure clips will release. Don't be shy. There are no screws. Than with the light bezels exposed you will see a metal clip that has to be pulled back to release the bezel and it will swing forward to allow you access to the bulb.
