Where is the block heater cord located on a 2008 ford escape----thinking it has never been used so is as came from factory???

Not easy to find the first time!

block heaters are aftermarket so there isn't a specific location for that vehicle, However i can tell you that they are usually located in a freeze plug hole in the side of the block. if you look at your engine block just above your oil pan you will see several circular plugs, one of the plugs will have two prongs sticking out of it, and that will be where your plug connects. good luck.

I have never seen a factory block heater on a Taurus. If you have one, someone put it in. It could be at any of the six ports (three on each side) of the engine (really just four, no one would put it behind an engine mount. Not even Ford). Follow the cord to it. If you can't find the cord(drivers side p by the headlights), most likely you don't have one..

The original door code was indeed on a card with the owners manual. If that is gone, the door code is on a module inside the center console on 2008-2012 Ford Escapes. There is a discussion with pictures at one of the Escape forums: http://www.escape-city.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=8215

I had to find my code on my 2012 Escape.

If your car has a cord, you will see it in one of the front plugs or you will find it wounded up behind the bumper or top of the fuse compartment.

It could be the blower resistor. While I'm not familiar with the 2008 Escape, most resistors are located near the blower motor under the dash on the passenger side. It'll have a plug with several wires, and usually 2 screws holding it in.

it may not have one, any repair shop can install it for you.
