What steps to take to remove third seat in 2001 chevy surburan

Both sides have their own modules. They are behind the panels right beside the middle seats. Remove the back seats (if you have third row seating) Pull the panel (they pop off). Either replace the module or disconnect it and manually open and close the side door.

I think it's on top of the instrument panel.

We had this problem once as well. We discovered that if all 4 latches (two in front and two in back) are not closed completely the seat back will not come up. In our case we had to lift the seat enough for the latches to close even though they were not connected to the floor and then we were able to unlatch and relatch everything so that it worked properly. The key is to take a very close look at all the other latches and figure out if they are locked properly. If not then that is your problem.

If you are talking about the third row seat, the first step is to fold the seat down. Pull the lever behind the passenger side of the third row seat and fold the seat down. Then, from the cargo area, raise the bar located directly behind the third row seat and lift the seat forward. The seat should now be detached from the car and can be removed. remove rear seat, it's just clipped in. remove fuel pump acces cover gasket, pull out fuel pump assembly. Hold off smoking till later. order online new pump for a third of the price. reinstall. bingo...done.

if its a dome light there will be a notch in the clear cover that will allow you access to the bulbs if its a third brake light you will have to remove the c pillar panels and then the deck panel to allow access to the third brake light

You should be able to reach under the seat and pull the metel bar under the seat
