As per the problem which you mentioned,it indicates faulty or loose connected starter.But still to confirm the fault,you can get the battery tested by volt meter.It should show 12 volts.If there is 12 volts then battery is functioning and starter is the issue.One more thing.The starter gets power to start from the battery.The battery terminal is connected to starter.So with the ignition off,disconnect the battery to starter connection then clean the terminals and then reconnect the connections then recheck.If still the same problem then starter is the issue.
Also in some cases if there is no or low fuel in the vehicles fuel tank then this types of problems are seen,so confirm the fuel quantity in the vehicle.---------------This will help you.Thanks.Helpmech.
