SOURCE: MY GLOW PLUG LIGHT IS FLASHING IN MY DASH BOARD VW
Despite what you may read from other comments....The glow plug light is
simple a multi function warning light and IS among many othed
things in fact used to warn of brake light and brake light switch
failure. Therefore it can NOT be treated as glow plug problems only.
I have worked on V.W for many years and have encountered this problem
many times. You should get the OBD codes read. This will reveal the
exact problem...and there may be more than one
You can contact your V,W agents if you wish and check to see if I am correct.
Best of luck
John

There may not be any other way to fix it except to replace your instrument panel. That's where your immobilizer is located. Or you could try this:
Try cold-booting the car. Remove both battery cables from the battery.
Short the battery cables together (away from the battery) for about 15
seconds. Reconnect the battery. No guarantees - I found this info at tdiclub.com.

chances are if you system was serviced by modern equipment then they would have pulled a vacuum before recharging .. that would eliminate moisture in the system .. the evaporator is inside your heater box .. you cant see it .. the condenser is the radiator like device in front of your engine cooling radiator ..
if the system is changed properly and still does not work or works intermittantly . then there is a good chance that the air conditioner clutch electronic module is bad .. thats a relay like device located on the drivers side behind the dash .. you have to snap off the dash side panel .. its normally hidden by the door .. inside that is the fuse panel and behind that is the relays/electronic modules .. the one that operates the air conditioner clutch is marked 384 .. there are other possibilities depending on your a more precise description of the problem ..

There's a level sensor plugged into the bottom of the coolant reservoir. Unplug it and clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. If that doesn't do the trick, replace the sensor.

You very well may have a bad park brake module located under the center console, it will have to be replaced aby the dealer because it needs to be programmed along with the ECM and the Electronic Brake Control Module. Hope this helps
