I have a 97 Dodge Gran Caravan. There is a hollow thumping sound that is coming from below the passenger side dash. When I start or stop fast or I shut the front doors I hear this hollow thump. It doesn't happen when I shut the doors with the windows open. I have a suspicion it may be some sort of ventilation door that is loose. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

SOURCE: rear wheel

does the van shake or vibrate? does the van have tires on it ?start by switching the left rear with the right rear test drive and listen for soun if no sound then the tire has a bad steel belt replace tire if the sound is still present. jack up van and spin tire if no sound is heard replace wheel bearing and if there is still a sound look into brake drum for possible springs or clips that may have fallen into drum causing noise but i would say its more than likely the rear wheel bearing to change that u must buy a new bearing and follow instructions on replacing good

SOURCE: 2005 thumping/rattle front end.

450-$60 per upper strut mount at autozone, and probably 1hr. to 1-1/2 hrs.per side to replace it. Depending on your labor rate in your area. Would recommend alignment after too. Usually if your going to do one, do the other too, because it won't be too far behind the first one to clunk, and then you end up paying for another alignment too. Here's a site that may help, if not exactly what your getting done, pick closest for rough estimate, just add, or subtract parts/labor your not, or are getting done. ( repairpal.com )

SOURCE: Power sliding door doesn't work!

Try taking off the door, or spray some wd-40 on the rail. It sounds like its either not getting enough power or its getting caught on something.

Hello, I just purchased a used 97 Dodge Caravan Se and when I was driving it down the road it started to shake and make a grinding noise in the front end. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be?...

Sounds like your front passenger's side wheel bearing might be going bad. It could also be the cv axle is going bad. Have it looked at before it gets worse and possibly seizes up on you.

I am getting a bank 1 sensor 2 fault code on my 2000 dodge gran caravan. What is this and where is it located?

Bank one is same side as #1 cylinder. Sensor #2 is after catalytic converter on exhaust. On 3.3L or 3.8L that's rear cylinder on backside on passenger side.

Check engine&abs light on, speedo and gauges go to 0

there would either be a shorted wire or the computer is malfunctioning. The only way to fix this problem is to have a mechanic put a scanner on your car and test it. AUTOZONE DOES IT FREE other wise it's about $40
