Check ur radiator cap! Mostly when the engines become hot, coolant goes thru the coolant reservoir and comes back to the radiator when it cools down. Damage radiator caplet the coolant goes thru the reservoir but can't siphon back the coolant to radiator , thus always overflows the reservoir and the radiator dries out from its coolant! Check also if there is LEAKS in the bypass hoses and CAP PLUGS! Hope that might help u out!

Nissan Altima running hot

You may have to replace your thermostat. If the thermostat is not working properly, you will have over heat. You make also have a bad thermostat gasket and that's where the water leak from. It might be leaking a little at a time and the engine is hot so its dry before you can see it.

Heater only blows cold air vent blend door working fine

Here we go.
Raise the hood and remove the radiator cap.
Start the car and heat up the engine, usually takes about 5 minutes.
Turn on the heater full blast.
At this time, be sure your radiator is full of coolant, because a low radiator will drop the coolant so low the heater will get no water, it could be "air-locked".
If the collant level is low, add coolant and run the engine at a medium speed for 5 minutes to "burp" the air out of the heater hoses.
Feel the heater hoses to see if they are hot. They should be.
Feel the radiator hoses to see if they are hot. They should be.
If the radiator hoses are not hot, you may have a defective thermostat, it it might be stuck open.
If so, the heater would not get hot, because the motor is not.
If the radiator hoses are hot, and the heater hoses are not, likely the hot water is shut off to the heater.
There is likely a control near the firewall that is either controlled by a wire cable or a vacuum line.
This control valve has 2 heater hoses connected to it, one incoming and one outgoing.
Often, the wire cable or the control valve itself will stick due to rust or corrosion, or disuse.
If it is vacuum controlled, you may not be getting vacuum to the control valve, or again, the control valve may be stuck closed.
Sometimes these controls can be freed up with penetrating oil, sometimes they are too far gone to repair, must be replaced.
If you can fix it with penetrating oil, you may need to do that once a year.

Car runs hot when driven but fine while idling. Replaced radiator, hoses, thermostat

You would probably be better off replacing the belt and pump again since the labor would be next to nothing.
I would want to test the cooling system for exhaust gas and try to verify the head gasket is actually leaking next.
Are you loosing coolant into the cylinders ? There may be something else causing the engine to run hot such as exhaust problems.

Car is running hot but the radiater is fine and the fan is working

The overheating of the car can be due to many reasons and you need to check on each one to confirm the working of the system.
1. In the first place the working of the engine must be assessed. it must be smooth with a good indication that the tuning timing and the power seems good. This will confirm that the settings of the engine is good and so there is less scope that the engine seems to heat up on its own.
2. Secondly the radiator pressure cap must be tight and good, the radiator MUST not loose coolant after a run or in a few days time- since this must be a sealed system and there is no scope of water overflow or loss unless there is a leak- sometimes the leak is too microscopic as under high pressure only steam might escape and so reduce the coolant. So check for leaks while the engine is hot , specially the radiator, the hose or the fittings.
3. The working of the water pump must be good to ensure a good flow and circulation, so check for leak in the water pump, check for presence of water in the exhaust or leaking on the engine gaskets.
4.Make sure that the coolant is good and clean if not drain and refill , if there is presence of rust please have a good flushing of the radiator or else the chances are that the radiator ports can be blocked and reduce the efficiency of the cooling .
5. Finally the cooling fan, the radiator fan must be working, check the thermostat/thermistor to work accordingly with good flow, have a good water jet wash on the radiator for a clean radiator cooling fin exposure.

My gauge on my civic reads HOT but the car is fine. no smoke, no stalling, as if nothing is wrong... drove it 50miles today on "HOT" read but nothing wrong. i just changed the temp sensor and the...

Hondas are very tough cars and will run hot right up until a radiator hose ruptures. You need to make sure that there is not a problem.
When your Honda says it is hot, make sure the radiator fan is running. If not, it can be a bad fan or fan relay.
Next, turn on the heat full blast and make sure that you have allot of heat coming into the car. If not, even though your overflow tank has fluid in it, your radiator may be dry. This can happen if your radiator cap is bad. Check the fluid level in the radiator itself, but don't pull the cap until your car has cooled down at least an hour to reduce the risk of getting burned by steam.
If it stops reading HOT when you have full heat on it could be either the thermostat or a plugged radiator. Change the thermostat first since it is the cheapest fix.

Car keeps running hot even after I put a new thermostat in it and the speedometer works only sometimes and when it stops working, the D4 is flashing on the gear indicator

You have to bleed all the air out of the radiator by letting the engine run until it gets hot, as it does this you will see lots of air coming out of the radiator, almost gurgling, keep the radiator coolant filled as it does this until all the air is out and it stops gurgling. It should be fine then and not overheat unless something else is wrong.
