'04 Hyundai CD player

Our CD player on our recently purchased '04 Hyundai Sonata does not work. When you put a CD into the player and turn on, it will say "CD" and then it will say "er 6" and spit out the CD. It does this to any CD we put in there. Would putting a CD cleaner through there help or is this just a bad CD and need to be replaced???

    I have a 2002 Hyundai Sonata and I too am gettint an err 6 message when putting a CD in.....Then of course the CD is ejected.......Help !!!!!!

My radio/ 6 disc CD player.
Both. Check the power line that is supposed to power the clock and memory circuits when you turn off the ignition.

And your player has lost the ability of the laser to focus on the disc - hence the error message.

Which fuse is it to take out if the cd player reads unreadable disk for any cd I put in...2006 Hyundai sonata...
Kirk, I am not aware of any fuse to remove to make player work. Try cleaning the lazer/head. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

If you're finding it difficult to service/repair your car, get one of those online manuals. You'll not have to wait for others to answer, or rely on mechanics and all. Plus I know a website that has very good manuals online,
without expiry i.e. for lifetime.

Cd player doesn't work in 2006 hyundai sonata
There is a chance that you have a bad drive belt inside of the CD player. You probably need to have the unit removed and either sent in for repairs or find someone local to you that is competent in repairing it.

There is an inline fuse cartridge that you should checks.
But if it has power and still does not work, there is also a small hole below the CD tray, where you can stick in a straightened paperclip, and force a manual ejection, even if the player is totally nonfunctional.
