Put a multimeter with the positive end in your antifreeze and ground the negative end. Start your car and see if it starts to read any volts. If it reads any volts you might need to flush your antifreeze. If there is crud building up in your antifreeze in can cause static electricity to start to charge up and then short out a spark plug wire. This might be causing your problem. If your temp gauge jumps as well when it misfires please contact me

2001 Ford Taurus SE keeps throwing an engine misfire code. Started after I had mechanic replace wire set and old plugs with Iridium plugs.

The time factor is merely coincidental. Have your engine checked to find which cylinder is misfiring and change the fuel injector on THAT cylinder. The last digit of the code is the one that needs attention. You've already changed the plugs and wires, so you know already they aren't the problem.

2001 Ford Taurus 3.0 has code reading P0302

rouble Code: P0302

Cylinder Number 2 Misfire Detected
Possible Causes:

Air leak in the intake manifold, or in the EGR or PCM system. Base engine mechanical problem that affects only Cylinder 2. Fuel delivery component problem that affects only Cylinder 2 (i.e., a contaminated, dirty or sticking fuel injector) . Ignition system problem (coil, plug) that affects only Cylinder 2 .

I trying to fix my 2001 ford taurus i had someone put a new gasket on it and i think they put the spark plug wires in the wrong spot so i need a firing order for a 2001 ford taurus v6

the coil should be labeled with the cylinders near each post. the back three cylinders are 1-2-3 and the front three cylinders are 4-5-6.

Vehicle is showing a code PO304 on a 2001 Ford Taurus. I have changed the fuel filter, the spark plugs, the coil, the air filter all just recently. Last year, I changed out the plug wires. Does anyone have...

Do you have spark at the number four cylinder? Check that if spark is present , then you should swap the injector from four to five and see if the miss goes with the injector. If not then you will need to test the engine compression .

A misfiring on cylinder 1 ford taurus 2001

First off, how long has it been since the plugs have been changed? More than 30k? Change them. Check misfire. If still misfiring, there could be one or more of many issues. Have the wires (if 12 valve) ever been changed? if not, change them. If it's a 24v could be a bad coil, if 12v bad coil pack. could be a faulty fuel injector or circuit to injector. if a simple tune-up doesnt' fix it, scan for codes and see if theres anything else going on and update.
