If it's loose, your water pump is bad, the bearing is shot. Replace the water pump asap. Chances are, your fan clutch is fine, BUT like the other user said, these are prone to failure too, but 2 different problems.

The fan clutch may be bad, very common, but check the water pump also. Fan clutch failure is common, you may be ahead to replace that if the pump is bad.

My air con/heater fan is making intermittent grinding noises, the heating and cooling work fine but it makes this strange noise? Any suggestions?

The fan wheel is warped and strikes the housing. Replacing the fan wheel, not the entire motor, will solve the problem.

Roaring in the front end of my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer 4x4

A jet engine type of noise from the engine area usually means the fan clutch is going bad. I don't think the tach is related to this, that could be the stepper motor for the tach going bad.

Assuming the bolts are not loose, when mine was doing this it turned out to be the water pump was going bad. The fan pully is bolted to the water pump

C V Joints can make a lot of noises. Sounds to me like you either bent the inner fender or if it is plastic you may have pulled it loose and it looks normal but it is just sitting in place with the push pins out of their intended holes. When you turn and or hit a high speed it hits the wheel/tire. Try putting on some gloves and then pulling medium strength on the fender well and surrounding areas to see if that is the problem -

How can i tell if my water pump is bad?

most of the time when a pump goes bad in starts to leak after you shut off the engine. May not be much and it may or may not leak enough to see it on the ground. Look around the water pump and see if you can see any wet spots and look at the water pump it self and it has weep holes one on the bottom and top see if you see any leakage from there if so the pump is bad

2003 trailblazer makes winding noise when i accelerate.

it has to do with the clutch on the cooling fan. I have had to have mine fixed at about 50 k and it is acting up again at 87k. This tends to go away on mine as the engine heats up.
